I think I already know the answer to this but would a 2700mah 6s lipo be adequate for setting up and use for testing and extremely short flights?

how long would a 2700mah last on a 550 trex?

or would it drain to fast and cause the lipo to puff and swell?

Thought the trex 550 used 6S 4000-5000mah batts, you should be fine to use for setup but I'm not sure if adequate enough to get any decent flying time in.

It is easily adequate, especially if you are learning. You will be doing well to keep it in the air for the full battery.

this lipo is purely for setup of the electics and so i can familiarise myself with the setup process. no real flying.

From another thread, he actually got a 500, so it was probably a typo.

But still, for a learner, a 2700 would probably be ok for the learning stage notwithstanding the tail heavy issue.

You need to be aware of the current draw as well not just the capacity. Is the 2700 up to delivering the Amps required or will it go pop ?

Should be ok if its a 30c, anything less than 20c could be dangerous.

its a 2700mah 30c Optipower lipo, should be plenty for setup usage

I think it will be fine,you may need to have it as far forward as possible mind.you will get 4-5 minutes of low head speed hovering at a guess.
