  • Align BEC battery requirements

    Hi Folks

What is the peoples choice of battery for the Align BEC used in the 600?

Flightpower, Revolution etc, what capacity and how long a flight do you get?

    Cheers for any info.

i'm running a fromeco 2600 in mine and tbh i couldn't tell you how many flights but i would guess 8 ish but those can be spread over a couple of weeks without charging. i don't trust the LED's on the side of it though.

i don't like the idea of a lipo on a heli unless vital and in this case fromecos will work but each to their own.

    cheers

I use a Revolution 2S 2100 & I usually get around 8 flights before the green Led's begin to flicker...Probably another 4 or 5 flights left in it at this point but I always recharge to be safe
      Cheers,

I'm running the Align 6A reg, their 1900mAh battery and have had no problems yet. I was running the 3A reg but thought it was a little close to the current limit for the servo's I was running.

I get about 6 or 7 flight before I think about recharging
        Cheers Matt

          Hi Gazza

Did you have the receiver plug put on for you or are there some RX Lipo's on the Aurorra site that I've missed?

          Cheers

            I use a Revo 2S2P 3000 mah pack, Align 2 in 1 regulator and 5v step down.
Spektrum AR7000 dual receivers, Hitec 6965 HB cyclic servos, GY611 and 9256 tail servo, 3152 servo on throttle at the moment...

I get a comfy 5 flights per charge.
I could go more, but I don't like to take chances...
The top two green lights are usually off on the 2 in 1 regulator switch after 5 flights (leaving one green light) - I may go for flight 6, or I may recharge at that point (fly the Vibe and the 450, and the 600n is recharged anyway - 20 minutes fast charge ) - it all depends what I feel like at the time.

The stuff you're powering on your heli makes a big difference to how long the power source will last - as does the flying style...
            Cheers,

You plug the LiPo pack into the regulator, then the regulator into the receiver - giving it the 6 volts of regulated power.
              Cheers,

                Thanks Rob

I noticed that there is the power plug on the BEC not the normal Futaba/JR servo style plug.

Where can you get these if I went for a Flightpower Lipo (I already have the Flightpower balance stuff for the Trex hence my question) or should I make my own such as Deans on one end and the Align plug the other?

                Cheers

Um, I'm a little confused by that
The 2 in 1 regulator has one plug on it that fits into the receiver.
The power feed into the regulator - you need to fit the male connector to fit whichever battery pack you're going to use (which will have the female on it...) - I use Deans connectors on all battery packs personally.

If you need to buy connectors, I believe Maplins are a good place to look.

Was that what you were asking?

                  Cheers,

No mate the 2S pack comes with a female deans & I soldered a male deans to the Align BEC & connect it straight to that. The BEC then connects to the receiver via the supplied Align regulator.
                    Cheers,

                    Gazza

                      Yes Rob

I have the Flightpower balancer and charger stuff and so would like a 2s FP Lipo as the receiver and servo power supply used with the Align BEC.

My question was what type of connector do you use connecting the Lipo to the BEC.

You've answered my question, many thanks.

Thanks Gazza for your reply as well.

                      Cheers
