  • Align 2 in 1 regulator

i'm thinking seriously about investing in a couple of these for my two knights.

    couple of questions though...

I am running a combination of 3151 and 3152 servo's on the cyclic and throttle. Are these ok at the 6V

Both have a GY401 gyro, this is ok at 6V but my 9254's need a step down to 4.8V

The regulator can come with a 1900 2S battery, does this offer a much enhanced battery life over my Sud C's, i'm currently going about three tanks before a recharge and would love more. Is it worth investing in a bigger 2S lipo??

    Thoughts anyone?

I'm using the 2 in 1 regulator on my Trex600n (and fitting one to my Knight 3D too).
3151 and 3152 servos will run at 6 volts fine.

The Align inline step down for the rudder servo is approx £5 - I am using those also.

I decided to not go for the included battery, and instead bought a 2S2P Revolution pack, giving me more flying time. I use Spektrum radio gear though which pulls more out of the pack than standard PCM/PPM gear, so more capacity is better as a safeguard.

The 2 in 1 regulator has a "control panel" which indicates your pack voltage as well as being the power on/off switch, and glow driver - it's a neat little unit that seems to work very well.

For the price, the included LiPo seems like a steal to me (just £10 more for the pack!)

I'm getting 6 flights comfortably before I decide to recharge, I don't like to push flight numbers - it's just not worth it

    Cheers,

I think the 3152 specs actually quote its performance at 6V too, so you should be OK. I run 3152's at 5.8V with no problems.

good to know about the 3152's, already kind of knew I would have to get the step down for the tail servo.

Hopefully in skyline later so might pick one up. The tenner for the align pack as Rob says is tempting but i want about six flights before charging so will it be enough?????

Buy it anyway as it's so cheap, as well as the larger lipo - then you've got something to use whilst the other is charging.
I have the 2-in-1 also, brilliant unit.

Tried to pick one up yesterday at Skyline. Advised to wait a while till the potential lock out issues had been identified.
Whats the opinion of other 35Mhz users out there, any problems????

Mine seems ok but I'd add that as I grew up with electric stuff I learnt at an early point not to strap something like this on top of the Rx however good and clean it was supposed to be which is something that leaves a lot of people groping in the dark.

As Phil said, there have been a few issues with this module and 35MHz, seems like it forces the receivers into fail-safe for short periods, i.e. gives you "glitches". I believe they are fine on Spread Spectrum, and none 35Mz Tx/Rx.

Nice to see that Skyline are being "up front" about this problem, and hopefully Align can get it resolved quickly.

It does remind me that CSM had similar problems with their Glow Driver module

                  Hi

I've got one with the 1900mah battery on my TREX600N.

I'm on the 3rd gallon and havent had 1 glitch. This is on 35mhz.

Also I believe the voltage is 5.8v not 6.

                  Cheers

Does anyone know any time scales on when this will be fixed?

Bob have you had any updates??
