  • Dynatron on 24v??

Just bought two 4300man 12v Nicads to run my Dynatron. I tried to start one of my helis with it and it turned it over no problems, as you'd expect really!! But when the engines had an air lock, it struggled for a second before starting the engine, followed by a slight hissing sound. On inspection, I saw that the connectors had welded together!!!

    Is this normal??

Are you running the two Nicads in series for 24 volts? I just got a Dynatron recently and have not used it yet. I have a 5s Lipo
for it and just got a bracket today to mount the Lipo but started thinking maybe 5s (18.5 volts) might be too much.

They will work ok up to 24v but at that voltage you need to watch your wrist in event of hydrolock they can give a nasty twist

Its a BEAST!! I might change the connector from the starter to a Deans? 24V may be a little too much lol.

5S is fine on the Dynatron. Been running one on mine for ages. You'll be fine

I run an old 6s lipo back in the day when I had one connected with a deans and that was way to much!

5s pack on a Dynatron is absolutely perfect. Best heli accessory I have spent my money on, brilliant.

I use 2x 9.6v Nimh packs on my Dynatron which give it 19.2v, mover than enough for starting 90's, but it can still cause damage to 50's if your no careful!
                        Thanks!

24v is prone to welding the switch on if it stalls,
On 22v it doesn't seem to do it.

a fellow flyer has his on 3s but when i needed to start my very highly compressed 26cc petrol engine, i jsut stuck his on a fully charged 6s, thats 25v and its fine, no noises, the switch perfect and it over revs the engine lol
