  • Charging info needed

Hi guys, Just bought three 4100 milliamp Tornado batteries for my helis and I have a couple of questions I need help with please

    1. I accidently charged it at 5.0amps instead of 0.5amps on the initial charge. Have I f***ed it up???

    2. How long will it take to charge a 4100 milliamp battery on the 'standard' wall charger to charge fully??

    Thanks guys

    Is this a Nicad? Ni-Mh?

    If so...
Question 1. Probably not, but give it a cycle and see what it will hold.(assuming youv'e got a charger that shows how many milli-amps it's put in)

    2. About THREE WEEKS!!!
    (nearer 3 days actually)

1 - if LiPo then no problem, if NiMh or NiCad then cycle it on a proper charger a couple of times and see how much it takes.

2 - Don't charge anything other than transmitters and mobile phones on wall chargers
        Clones are bad

        .... that includes Align ones

I agree with the above. Especially 2. I've heard of lots of people charging there TX with the fast chargers and it blows the internal fuse in the radio.

          Cheers

The Prodigy lets you discharge as well as charge and it will show you how many milli-amps it extracted from the battery. You should in theory get somewhere near 4100mA out, but in practice this is rarely the case but it should be somewhere close to that figure.
It will also show you how much power it puts back in to the battery.

Have a good read of the manuel. Quite straight forward once you get your get your head round it.

OK, bit of a long shot, but can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to cycle on the Pro peak for a 4100 Milliamp Nimh. Dont trust myself with this now

What should I discharge it at? D=0.50A??

Or cycle it at C=3.0A D=0.50A????

              My head hurts!!

                  Step 1 Plug in
                  Step 2 Press discharge
It beeps and tells you the capacity should be >4000mAh
                  Step 3 Press charge
It beeps and tells you the returned mAh (capacity)
Step 4 if less than 4000 repeat from step 2

                  It sorts itself out
