do i need an adaptor?

i have a align 7.4v 1900mah lipo and a turnigy lipo charger (similar to the imax) to charger 3s lipos.

the align 7.4v lipo has a 2 pin jst and 3 pin balance plug does anyone know which adaptor wire i require?

basically i just want to charge my reg. lipo and when i just connect the balance plug it says "connect break".

Odd that FL do a Banana to JST Female but not a Banana to JST Male.

You could make your own.

How do you charge your align 2s lipos ? And besides I thought can I put a 3s lipo by any chance

the align batteries have a male jst connector the adapter you linked to is the correct one just a funny angle on the picture you need that and the ballance connector plugged in to do a ballanced charge

Female means different things to different people.

With connectors like Deans, there's no confusion. The conductive elements define the gender and it's obvious that female is female and male is male.

With other connectors, like JST, the situation is less clear cut. The connector with the male conductors looks externally like it may be female, and the other connector inserts into it. Conversely, the connector with the female parts looks like it might be male and inserts into its partner.

Very rare are connectors like Powerpoles, which aren't actually gendered at all; a powerpole will plug into another one as long as they are the same size and aligned correctly.

The "female" connector adapter shown looks like it is really male (by conductor gender); similarly, the "male" connector linked to by Kozmyk is really female.

Not teaching you to suck eggs mate (as you should already know how to charge your 3cells ), but the "connect break" means theres not a full curcuit.. so you either aint plugged the (white) JST-XH in the balance port or the (red) JST to the charge plugs.

Odd that isn't it? And it's not just Fast Lads, HobbyKing use the same gender convention for JST connectors.
It seems wrong to me to classify them according to the shroud/housing gender and not the actual terminals.
With EC3s they get it right even though the shroud gender is opposite to the terminal gender.

yeah its a bit odd with jst and unwind said terminal wise it's opposite to how it looks lol i just look at it as one connector visibly goes into the other the one going in is male the type of charger in question charges through the discharge leads but needs the ballance connector to do a ballance charge

So the bottom line for Wasim/3dheliflyer is that the one that Fast Lads suggested is the right one for connecting your Align 2s lipo to your charger.
