  • need new lipos

hi guys i need a new lipo which one do you recommend for a 450 pro?

    (i was thinking of getting a 2750mah)

  • #2
I cannot recommend the Loongmax Tipples, they are the best lipos i have used, let alone at the price they are.
    Concept Copters Ltd - Loong-Max Tipple 2700mah 3S1P 20C-30C Lipo Battery (5C Charge)

Unfortunately they are not in stock at CC but i will find out when they are due in

Get some Turnigy 2200mah 30c Turnigy packs.

Personally I wouldnt go larger capacity, and rather just get an extra pack.

I have flown a 2500mAh lipo in my 450. It fitted fine in the heli and flew fine, however, I think that a 2750mAh may be a bit on the weighty side for a 450. The weight will affect performance and you probably wont get as much flight time as you expect due to the extra load the heli has to carry. 2200 - 2300mAh does seem to be the sweet spot for the 450. Alternatively I have my eye on the 2400mAh turnigy nano-tech lipos. These are slightly smaller than similar capacity lipos and the weight is not that much more than a 2200mAh standard turnigy or loong max tipple.

I've been using 2600mha hyprians vx and they have been superb over a year of constant abuse and are now a bit soft but I fly a LOT :-)

I'm pretty impressed with my Turnigy Packs at the moment. I'm using the 30c Packs. The one which has the most cycles has about 35, and is still going strong with no puffing yet.

The Tipple packs.. myself I was not too impressed, though These were bought some time ago, and the chemistry may have changed. They started puffing at 25 cycles, and have lost a lot of power. Only suitable for basic sports or just stooging around.

...Have some Rockamps.. and one is on 95 cycles, and is still VERY good!

Like the look of the 35C turnigy packs.. and at a very good price... Though I have enough of these 3s packs, and not looking for anymore at present..

I've been using these. For my style of flying they suit me fine and are no more expensive than going to HK. Oh, and you get them in 2 days.

They show nil stock at the mo but, after the weekend, I bet they'll re-stock.

Check out the rest of Storm_trade's shop - they have other batteries too.

The pro is I believe a little more power hungry than the SEv2 though Martin so you might have less cycles with a 20C than a 30C pack before performance falls off or they puff. Got 4 of the 35C packs on order from HK to add to the 30C's I already fly - for the money I cant fault them - very low ohm's per cell as well! Far better than the 2800's 30C's I use for hover practice but they are a little heavy really...
