  • Which 500 Hobby King Lipo?

    Hi guys

I want to pick up a couple of LiPos for my plain old fashioned T-rex500 Glass Fibre.

I've seen a few posts on here about Turnigy and Zippy packs but have noted some conflicting reports on which ones will fit on an un-modified 500.

Can anyone provide me with any links to Hobby King 6S LiPos that they have used personally and that do fit on an un-modded 500 please?

    Many thanks.
    Martin

    HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store : Turnigy 2650mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack

I have a 3000mah Turnigy 6s 30c next to me, ill see if that one fits too on the old frame 500.

I think most of them will fit really, just those Zipy 20c ones I posted about wont.

Thanks. Was hoping to give HK a try. I've heard several say that they've got two batteries for around the price of 1 of the cheapest available in the UK.

If you are practising circuits, orientations etc then I would be tempted to get these.

Any reason why the second is more suitable than the first you suggested Paul? I just notes that the second is more costly whilst having a lower C rating.

I looked at getting them from HK but by the time you add postage then the price difference can be minimal. I think if you order over 3 then it can be better. My view is if you have a problem and have to send back this can cost in the long run the other option is see if they have them in Germany

                Just down to price really.

My Zippy 2650 20c packs come down a warmer than my Nanotechs but dont give me the power when I need it, yet they are spot on for circuits etc.

Im guessing the 30c's will last a bit longer to, due to them not getting as hot., but in 6 months time are you really going to notice?.. and by then (which ever pack you choose) you will want to reaplce them regardless.

The equivelant HK packs to the ones you posted (my first post Turnigy 2650 30c) are £52 delivered for the pair.

..thats on the slow boat which is about 3 weeks.

Via EMS they are here within a week and $8 more.

I have the Zippy and Turnigy 40C 3000 packs on mine..

I don't have the modified frames. They fit a tad lower on the tray, and the canopy will not slip into the lower clip on the bottom. The canopy sits slightly raised, and butts against the bottom of the battery, but holds good and will hold good unless its crashed! Its acceptable for me.

                          From the DE Warehouse:

HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store : Turnigy 2650mAh 6S 20C Lipo Pack (DE Warehouse)

                          2650mAh, 20C, $46

HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store : Turnigy 3000mAh 6S 35C Lipo Pack (DE Warehouse)

                          3000mAh, 35C, $65

Both in stock now. More expensive than the ones in Hong Kong, but I've swapped to picking up the stuff from DE warehouse for cheaper shipping and arrives much faster. Also it comes to my door vs. HK EMS mail arrives at some parcelforce depot an hours drive away.

Trex 600LE (OS 50, quick uk bits)
                          Trex 500 (DS520s all around, fl760)
                          Trex 450 (hs65mgs, ds420 tail, gy401)
                          Trex 250 (stock)

I find the Turnigy 2200 6S Nanotechs very good in my HK500. At least two for the price of one (incl postage) over rip-off UK prices. Get all my Lipos from Hobby King, never had a problem and delivery always in 10-15 days.http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=11913
