  • 15AMP or 20AMP

    I have seen Power Supply Units 200WATT with 15 AMP and others with 20 AMP (do not know the WATTAGE with the 20 AMP one), what difference would the extra 5 AMP make?

    SOOOO much to learn.

    that extra 5 amps in theory would allow you to charge either more lipos or larger lipos faster depending on what charger you have, i'd just go for the 20amp psu

      Using Ohms Law, Power = Voltage x Current.

      By Substitution, Voltage = Power / Current, therefore:

      Voltage = 200 / 15 = 13.33 [recurring] Volts.

      Using 13.333 volts as the reference, for the 20A PSU,

      Power = 13.333 x 20 = 266.66 [recurring] Watts.

      Can your charger offer a charge rate equivalent to 266 Watts ??

      Hope this helps your decision.

      Maurice.
