  • V-Balance query.

    Hi Folks

Used my V-Balance for the first time last night.

Seemed to work fine, all the LED's flashed and the battery was charged.

    My question is this.

The LED for cell 2 was yellow not green like cells 1 & 3.

Is this normal? There is no real help in the manual and when I tested each cell with the fuel guage option, it remained yellow not green.

Does this mean cell 2 is different in charge (0.015V I believe) to the other two cells and I have nothing to worry about or is there a problem with the V-Balance?

Thanks for any help, I intend to contact FP but thought I would ask on here before I made a complete pratt of myself (no change there).

    Cheers

I don't know the answer to this but when I use mine on a 6 cell it always finishes green yellow green yellow green yellow alternatively. Puzzled over it for a while , now I don't think about it .
By the way I have two of them and there both the same.

      Thanks Dave

I guess they alternate the LED colours on each cell.

Wish they said that in the manual.

      Many thanks

I think it's definitely worth a quick email to FP to ask the question and get clarification.
I don't like guessing when it comes to Lithium

          Thanks Rob

I agree and I've just fired off an email to FP.

It's normal the cells are indicated by alternate colours for some obscure reason

              Hi

Just had a confirmation email from FP themselves.

The cell lights DO alternate from Green to Yellow so as to distinguish between the cells.

Now that is a prompt reply.

              Cheers

Still seems a bit bizarre though, eh?
I mean, surely each LED represents a cell - therefore distinguishing each cell?

Ah well - at least you now know for sure
                Cheers,

                  Hi Rob

Yes I feel a little happier now.

I can sort of see why they have done it.

I just wish they had mentioned this in the instructions.

                  Cheers

                    Cells gone?

When balancing my 4s on the V balancer, it spends a lot of time balancing cells 2, 3 & 4.

                    Eventually sorts itself out.

Does this mean that cell 1 could be on the way out? Flightpower evo 20.

                    Thanks
