  • Is this the ultimate Budget Lipo charger?

Been looking around at LIPO chargers, there are many. Some are cheap as tesco value chips and some are cheap as marks and spencer chips.

But this one seems to have it all! Mains powered which is what I want as I do all my flying indoors.

Balance charge 2, 3, 4 cell packs straight out of the box with no extra add on rubbish to buy.

It has balance connectors on it that are suited to each pack - so for example, you can not plug a 2 cell lipo into the 3 cell charge output because the connector wont fit. That prevents the cause of most fires - overvolting. Also with 2 cell packs which is what i am using - you can balance charge 2 battery packs at a time.

Looks perfect. And all for a measeley 44.99. Could this be the charger that makes charging LIPOS safe?

Put me down for one baby!

I had a 16 JR LiPo charger that I used for my small LiPos and it was fine

I also use a 16 el-cheapo charger for my lipo's (up to 3 cell), works well, and charges them faster than my Superdooper all singing charger.

Charging Lipo's is never safe, no matter what charger you use, always treat them with respect. The biggest issue with Lipo charging safety, is the idiot pressing the buttons

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Its interesting that we have so much trouble isnt it? Whan you consider that theres a single cell lipo in almost every modern phone today - yet i dont see phones blowing up or catching fire? Is it because you cant plug it in wrong, and there are no buttons on the charger?

Kinda the same as the align charger then? No buttons takes the idot out of the question?

The new Apple PowerBooks have LiPos too, I think they push the sort of LiPos we use right to the limit which makes them a little dodgy when abused or charged incorrectly.

Funny you should use that analogy Janek - the other night on Top Gear Clarkson said that the most unreliable thing in any car nowadays is the squidgy organic bit behind the steering wheel

Yea, right, but don't forget that Mr Clarkson drives some of the most expensive cars available, and generally does it entirely for free. Use meer mortals have to drive round in el cheapo "bangers", that are far from reliable

I think the most unreliable bit is the squidgy organic bit behind the steering wheel of the car that runs into me.
