PL6/PL8 Question

Evening All,

I’ve had a PL6 for years and always parallel charged the same capacity lipos together using the High Power preset. If I want to parallel charge four 5000mah lipos and two 1800mah (all are 6s) in High Power preset do I select Parallel Packs=6 and Charge Rate= 5.0A OR 1.8A?

Neither. Choose 1x pack and charge at 23.6A for a 1C charge.

Choosing 6 packs just does the calculation for you so you don't have to when they're all the same.

Personally I'd just set it to the highest it can do (40A?).. That's still less than 2C charge rate which is fine for pretty much any modern LiPo.

I've always charged at 1C but I'm looking for options to reduce the time I need to charge all my lipos. Will charging at 2C reduce my charge time by much?

Yeah, in theory 2C charging halves the time vs. 1C. The reality is that you dont save quite that much as the balancing bit at the end still takes the same time, but it's still a lot quicker.
