Currently I'm using optipower 5000 6s for my trex 550 but thinking about getting a couple of these Gens ace 5300mAh 22.2V 30C 6S1P Lipo Battery Pack. Has any one used both? Is there any noticeable difference?

Revolectrix 5500mAh SPLIT PACK 6SHV 22.8V Lipo - 70C SILHV label
We've been using the 6s 4400 60c Revo packs for a while now with very good results so on the back of that have just ordered 6x of the above. They're the new HV packs but check out the weight for such a high capacity, very very good lipos and the service from John @ Revo is as good as it gets, worth considering.

Made2Fade did a very comprehensive write up on the Gens Ace packs. It is in the workshop section… could be worth a read if they are something you are thinking about tryingStainburn Helicopter Club

yep, been using both for a while now and cant see any difference whatsoever, other than the Gensace being slightly cheaper. Both great packs, only thing i will say is the Gensace are slightly bigger and wont fit in my Mostro so bear that in mind when buyingOriginally posted by chrisleematt21 View PostCurrently I'm using optipower 5000 6s for my trex 550 but thinking about getting a couple of these Gens ace 5300mAh 22.2V 30C 6S1P Lipo Battery Pack. I've got a set of 6 Gen's Ace 25c 3300mah .... had them well over 2 years now ... they've been flown in 2x Trex500, a Fusion 50 and now a Gaui x4ii .... Generally been flown to full (20% remaining) depletion sometimes kept at that or sometimes storage charge
They're still rock solid, have an average per cell resistance of 2 mili ohms
Showing no signs of ages at all.... they're compact in size... they're the best mid-range price lipo i've had. All my similarly aged and treated Turnigy's were well above that resistance wise and starting to show early puffingGaui X4 II VBar - Trex 500 efl Pro VBar

I second gens ace as the best battery for the money solid construction, don't puff, very low resistance and fly with great power all the way through.
I remember when I first brought some a very well known shop taking the **** out of me as I brought them from giant shark, they said to me "you don't want to but that cheap crap from giant shark" shows what they new. HUh... LolGoblin 700 - VBAR Pro 12S

I was sorely trying to stay away from this topic, and i think the review i made speaks for itself. But here goes...
I think if you reasearch a bit then youll find the Gensace are beating many other top manufacturers atm. And some of those batteries cost almost twice as much.
Ive never compared them directly against the Optis but i do have experience with those packs and they were not good unfortunately. However... I have little experience of Optis newer ultra packs. Im guessing that doesnt matter though because your looking at 30C packs and the ultras are 50C.
So my money would buy the Gens Ace.
If you were in the market for 50C/more expensive packs then maybe Opti ultras could be a winner. Then again the 50C Gens i would expect to beat them also going from what im currently seeing. Ill do that comparison soon though hopefully
If you dont mind sacrificing build quality then id look at Haiyins packs also. Very good packs but they are nowhere near the build quality of Gens Ace or Optis. Youll save some good weight also though
Haiyins 30C packs are outperforming other manufacturers 40 - 45C batteries and have also been getting some great hype.

I'd like to second Lee's mention of Haiyin too, I've been beating the life out of some and they seem very good. I was talking to the Electriflyer dude at the Nats at the weekend and he was saying they can special order higher C rating versions from the factory. The Std C rating ones defo punch above their weight..
Just another option....
Cheers

I strongly doubt it - as I have no knowledge about any pack out there that has true >35C - all labels so far that I have seen and that were tested came in lower when testing them - no matter the vendorOriginally posted by Made2Fade View PostI

so far only GensAce as well as the Fair P-Ions who had 25C on them actually were higher than stated - around 27C if I remember correctly everything else that I have seen was marketingSev

I know this is Gens Ace thread so apologies but the Revolectrix lipos really are worth a look if you want to consider something different. Between us Norwich lot we've got quite a few of these now and they're working out very well. They also come with a 90 day warranty and the new HV series has a 6 month warranty.George

What is the cost? Say a typical 30C 6S 5000mah as per the OPs opening post? Actually who is the distributer now of Revo packs in the UK and what are their availability like? Is it still Mike whom had aurrora?Originally posted by jonesheli View PostI know this is Gens Ace thread so apologies but the Revolectrix lipos really are worth a look if you want to consider something different.
