  • Battery charging nimh

    Hi All,

i have an imax b6 charger and I'm new to the rc world. I need to charge my glow starter it's 1800 sub-c nimh 1.2v battery. What voltage settings should I be using and for how long?

I don't know your charger but you will probably just set it at NihM and a charge rate of 200 mah. Best rate is 10% of capacity.

The charger will stop when it's done. From completely flat about 9 hours but in practice it will be way less than that.

Check your charger has auto-voltage setting but I bet it does. It will auto calculate the pack voltage

That's a really old NiMH sub c have been 3300mah for donkies!

If you have a wall charger the yes 10% of capacity for 15hrs will charge it.

However if its a peak detecting fast charger than you need to charge it faster or it will probably "false peak" and stop early.

Sub c will happily charge at 1c just be aware of your cabling
