    Hi Chaps

I have a question regarding my receiver battery.

I have a FF7 and a 138DF receiver with 148 servos (as supplied with the radio).

I need to replace the 4.8v 700mAH supplied receiver battery with a 1400mAH battery as I have used before to good effect.

My question is this, I hope to fit a CSM HL200 gyro and uprated servo but I'm confused about the voltage for the receiver.

Should I stay with 4.8 volts (1400mAH) or can I fit 6.0 Volts (1400mAH) keeping my charger supplied with the Radio and will this give me the improved torque and speed for the servos?

    Cheers

From what I can see you should be okay.

Certain servos will only work on specific voltages, so make sure than all are compatible. The last thing you need is a burnt out servo happening in mid flight.

The choice is yours, however, if your flying's at a level of were you are now putting the heli through more demanding moves, I would be inclined also to up rate the servo's anyway's.

      Hi Stuart

      Thanks for the reply.

My flying initially will be me getting back into the swing after a long layoff. Certainly not 3D and I'm tending towards sport flying in scale anyway so the 148's will do for now although I hope to use an uprated tail servo.

The 148's will be binned when funds allow but I managed with them before for a while.

I may stick with 4.8v 1400mAH for now then and think about a 6.0V upgrade later.

      Many thanks for your input.

      Cheers

If your looking for longer flight times, then I'd recommend a duralite pack.

Helicopter Package 30 to 50 size (4.9 oz*)

Ideal for 30 to 50 size helicopter using Analog servos.
        1 - #7194 - 1900 mah 4 cell 7.4 volt pack**
        1 - #21007 - Charger 1@7.4 volt output w/DC Cable only
        1 - #54051 - Regulator - 7.5 amp, 5.1 volt
        1 - #21908 - A/C Adapter 800 mah
        1 - #43051 - Digital Load Tester .5, 1 & 1.5 amp load

You don't necessarily have to buy the package, the regulator is the real important bit and you can get this from Midland Heli's.

Batteries you can get from here:-

This will increase power, give a constant power level and increase your flight time at the same time.

just remember if you go 6v your flight times will reduce!

            Food for thought.
