I started at the beginning of the year, and have found the Raptor30 the easiest to learn on, the smaaler electric I have is much more Twitchy and dificault to control.
I see you live in Chelmsford, where do you fly at the moment. The reason I ask is that in my very humble opinion, join a club and get some tuition from an experienced pilot with a buddy lead, it will save you £££££sRob

If you have never flown a heli before then get a phoenix sim not only will this help with you learning to fly it's good for helping you progress with things like nose in hovering and the like, as to a good heli to learn on well if you decide to go electric then all you need is a T rex 500 simply the best, if you go nitro then a T rex 600 is all your going to need.

a turbine is great to learn on , very stable and well mannered
BUT
very expensive to crash
buy a 30/50 sized model to learn onHirobo Turbulence D3
