Me again, :)
Having some issues with the Blinktrading belt drive tail conversion on my Zoom 400
With the boom just held into position in the supplied blue riser, with the belt running through the boom, the bearings seem too short to reach the belt and provide any support/guidance. Also, the position the belt enters the boom seems a little high; being about 3mm above centre.
The belt drive toothed gear is fitted as low down as possible, and nestles right down onto the one-way bearing. Also, the one-way bearing sits flush with the white main gear. I also positioned the belt at the lower end of the gear so the belt is as low as it will go.
A 'secondary' problem is that when applying maxim travel of 'up' elevator, the elevator rocker assembly will rub on the belt. However, this might only be a problem when I progress to full-on 3D!!
I'm trying to think of solutions... I could raise the blue tail clamp riser block on shims... This would help the bearings to align, and for the belt to enter the boom tube more towards the middle, but would cause the elevator rocker assembly to be more likely foul the belt when applying 'up' elevator.
How about stacking 2 sets of bearings on top of eachother, or even a thin shim plus the extra bearing?
Any thoughts from anyone who has successfully kitted a belt drive kit before would be most welcome :D
Regards,
Rob.
