  • Protech Gyro NT-420 + Protech B-205 servo - set up advice

Anyone out there can offer me any set up advice on this gyro.
The tail rotor and the gyro sense are correct.
The normal / heading hold function works.
The gyro initialises properly with a red LED going to a Blue LED
But the heli spins to the left - the mechanical t/r set up is approx. correct so the gyro should hold it until I can sort the actual mechanical setting.
The instructions tell you to use sub-trim to correct servo creep.................??
    Thoughts anyone please

Is the gain setting working correctly, I would have said sense direction at first but if this is okay then all that's left really is the gain, assuming tail rotating the right direction that sort of thing.

Make sure the tail drive is not slipping. Hold the head and try to turn the tail against it. In one direction it will usually turn with the autorotation unit in the main gear, but in the other direction it should be not able to turn. If it is slipping this will cause the nose of helicopter to rotate uncontrollably to the left with the torque.

        Thanks Trevor,

I'll double check that - It did slip originally!
