• What Battery to buy

I also have a Piccolo Pro, but the deal came witha 250mah Battery 10,8 V
I need to buy a battery that can handle much more fly time. I know that there is a Pack of 10,8v of Lithium batterys,

Can i use one of these, and How to charge one of this batterys?
Let me know what is the best batery and charger if needed.... :D

Cheers :D

I'll have to take a look into this one, found this site that gives some useful tips, the GWS charger is mention here.

The SupaNova manual that I have hear don't mention that type of battery so I suspect it may not suit.

Have a read here and I'll keep on digging :D

Lithium-Ion packs need a special charger. Check out the link below for examples of battery packs, chargers, and upgrade motors:

From what I can find the maximum battery size for a pro is 700mah. Not sure why, I suspect its a balance between weight and heli performance not to mention space.

The Pro is the full 3D version and as such you'd need as little weight as possible without denting into heli performance. A good idea would to buy two 700mah charge them both, then change over when you see the performance drop off.

Hi!

LiPolys are today's tech and I think those are only packs worth to fly with. The 250mAh pack is almost a joke for your heli. You could put 3 x 1200 ETecs for your piccolo. You can use other brands as well but be sure to check that those packs give you enough amps out. They cost a bit more than "traditional" ones but they worth of every cent. They also give very much better weight/Ah ratio than the NiCads. I fly my MSHornet around 15 minutes with 2xETec1200 pack. I still do just hoovering but I like the longer flight times that the LiPos provide.

Are you using the stock 410 motor? If so you will need a pack that can deliver at least 12A. This rules out most 1000mAh packs. A 2000mAh pak will be too heavy. E-tech 1200mAh 3-cell packs will just do it, as will Kokam 1200mAh packs. I think Tanic make a suitable pack too. But for my money the best cells at this size are the Thunder Power 1300 mAh, or even better would be the Flightpower EVO20 1200mAh - these will give you the most power by far but are a little more expensive : http://www.flightpower.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=4200007

You need a special charge to charge LiPoly packs. I can throroughly reccomend the Schulze chamaleon isl6-330d.

I use the pro-peak constalation which is about 50ukp cheaper than the schulze and certainly seems to do the job,

The Schulze has a couple of annoying traites that get on my nerves like the 4hr limit which makes slow speed charging impossible, it struggles with single cells on the main output and the second output is pretty useless. It does however charge 11s li-poly which is great for high voltage electrics.

another option is the Pro-peak prodigy V2 its is very cheap but is compact and will do everything most people need.

I have used the 1300tp packs in a hornet 2, seemed to do the job nicely there. I am about to try the flight power batteries it will be interesting to see how they compare. The blurb says they have a lower internal resistance which means more volts under load which means more power to the motor.

The second output is for charging small numbers of cells. The main output isn't designed for charging single cells, whereas the second output is designed for almost exactly that. The 4 hour limit is not observed at low currents, so slow speed charging is entirely possible. Perhaps you have an early model? I'll admit there are cheaper chargers out there but I've tried a few of them and the Schulze is the only one I trust completely.
I have to agree with bodge here the Schulze range of chargers are worth every penny for peace of mind and the excellent amount of features they have.

As for the Pic Pro, if you havent already discovered it's in no way shape or form a good 3D platform the Hornet range is far superior in every aspect.

1320mah Thunder Power packs are still the benchmark cells for this size of heli
