Hi - I am looking for a cheap motor for the JR Super Voyager E 3s - would this one be OK? - http://www.giantcod.co.uk/brushless-outrunner-motor-series-n3548-1100kv-p-405495.html

I don't know about the Super Voyager, but my original one needed a 3000 kv motor because of the gearing. The figures refer to the maximum rpm per volt you can get out of the motor. On a standard Voyager, you need to be turning 30,000 rpm on the motor to get a reasonable headspeed - 3000 (kv) X 12 (approx) volts gives 36,000 rpm.
The Super one may have different gearing, so you need to find out what the overall gearing from motor shaft to rotor shaft is, then decide what head-speed you want to run. You can then calculate the necessary motor speed, and thus the kv required.
The one you've highlighted is about 1100 kv, which would be far to low for a standard Voyager.Pete
No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.
