• batteries needed

Hi - i've got an old hummingbird, but all 4 batteries I have are dead, but cant find anywhere that sells them.

Does anybody have any which they dont use anymore that they'd like to sell?

Or is there anywhere that sells them?

I only have a Ripmax Propeak Prodigy charger - I dont think it balances the charge on Li-Po's and I cant afford a balancer right now :(

plus it seems very expensive compared to e.g. http://hurricanemodels.co.uk/engine/shop/product/4403453/11.1V+1000MAH+JST+LI-POLY+BATTERY even though its only 200mAh less?

checked both but no luck :(

am I right in thinking I could just make my own? If I get 8 x AAA batteries, solder them in the same way, and attach a JST connector?

          anybody done the same?

How many were you going to order?

Reason I ask is, if its 2, you could buy 2 lipo's and a charger for less money.

Even if its 1 you may be able to get 1 lipo and a charger for less, but it would need a bit more searching.

              eg Ebay for charger: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Twister-Bell-800-ma-Li-Po-Charger-in-new-condition_W0QQitemZ350302609626QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item518fa9a0da

Is this LiPo charger/balancer any good? seems cheap compared to everything else Ive seen

I haven't seen that one before, it may be OK.

The chargers for the Eflight blade 400, or the Esky Belt CP/King seem quite cheap and reliable, I use the Esky one myself for my Trex 250 850mah packs.

Ok sounds good. Looked for an Esky one as you mentioned:

and from the same place, would this battery be OK?

The charger is the one I suggested, but the price is a bit high. The charger doesn't come with a mains PSU (12v 1.5A) too.

I have seen the charger for about £5.50.

The Lipo may be a bit heavy, are you sure that its a 3s Lipo you need? Some of the 4in1's can't handle 11v (Honeybee FP anyway)

                      If it is a 3s lipo then I wouldn't go above 1000mah, at about 91g for about £10.99, or 2s 1300 at about 75g and £9.99

Have a look at the GiantCod website

Looks like it can take the 11.1V as per this website - Hummingbird Classic (fixed pitch)

GiantCod website is good, although the batteries aren't in stock :( Ive emailed them to ask when they'll be back

amazing prices! thanks for the tip! :)
