  • Sceadu 30 with 50 size clutch bell???

Hallo all, the sudden piroheutte problem hasnt occured again for a while, so hopefully thats sorted. Newest problem is ive recently fitted a GV1 and its less powerful when i switch in the governor, the head bogs down!

However, I have just realised that it has a 50 size clutch bell on it, meaning that the gear ratio should be 8.7 in the governor, so that will have to be changed. Just wanted to ask you guys what difference having that clutch bell in is making to my engine performance?

Is it worth changing it?, will be getting 50 sometime, prob not till after christmas though.

on the lower ratio you will have less torque and if you keep the head speed the same there will be less power as you will be out of the power band of the motor.

it will be fine for hovering and stuff tho.

are you sure you have the governor setup correctly?

Ive now put the 9T clutch bell in it, engine now revs a lot higher, have only test flown it in the garden, havent had chance to thrash it and see how much difference it wil make to shooting vertical on the stall turn, cos that was pretty poor before.

Ive calcualted that the optimal power headspeed would be about 1863, but ill prob fly 1700 - 1800.

Going to see John Cook flying tomorrow, should be awesome!
