Firstly let me give you some of the background. Its an original sceadu, i got it secondhand couple of years ago. Cant really afford to buy another one at the mo. Lately my flying has improved ive been trying to get as much speed and power out of the 32SXH as I can, doing high speed takeoffs, fast circuits, Stall Turns etc.
Couple weeks ago I was doing the above and suddenly it went into an extremely fast pirouette, managed to get it down to find the boom had moved (stripped threads, replaced them) and the belt drive was also slack. Later inspection revealed that the tail servo had loose wires, which was causing the servo to give a full 180 movement randomly. One of these caused the initial piro, and the stresses of that caused the others, i think.
Anyway having replaced servo (its a S148, not great i know but its only a CSM180 gyro, will getting 401 with s9254 shortly), went flying today, initially seemed ok, got a slight glitch on the cyclic at speed. Landed, checked it over, went into the hover it then piros really fast again, i dropped the throttle, it stopped pirouetting and i landed.
Checked for other dodgy servo leads, no joy. The only metal to metal contact I can think of is that starter coupling doesnt always fully grip the starter shaft and it sometimes slips a bit on starting, could this be slipping in flight and causing interference?
Has anyone else got any ideas on what could be causing this, tail belt does have some slightly different shaped teeth to the rest and will slip if i put hard pressure on the head and tail?
Is there anything i can buy which will record interference/glitches?
Your help and ideas would be most appreciated
Paddy
