I have herd of 12.2lbs RTF weights from a few posts, but this seams high to me.
I was thinking more like 11.1lbs to 11.2lbs
5100 total weight or 11.2lbs
I like the kit, but 12.2 is way too heavy to run at the lower head speeds I am wanting.

sounds very academic to me. My X7 is a heavy pig but very accurate with crazy roll rates at low headspeed (7 min smooth backyard 3D on 5Ah, avoiding moves that rely on "pop" such as tictocs).
If I'd perceive it as too heavy, the first thing I'd do put on longer blades to lower the disc loading. Or, obviously, smaller LiPos. A lighter motor would be possible, if matched properly. I'm even running a Rx LiPo, which is as heavy as a 13th cell.
And, he should get rid of the heatsinks. Low RPM = long flight times = motor heating doesn't matter.

Nice one Mr Kills, i read the helifreak thred re X7 weight, bloomin septic tanks ai'nt thay got the metric yet WW2 ended already! i have the scorpion HK-5020-520KV motor helijive 120+ using the stock pinion @85% idle2 on my tx i am getting 2235h/s thats on the SAB blades that came with the kit,i test flew it at first on a lower head speed, about 1850'ish, solid as a rock, but i think the motor ran up a little too warm, my lecktrickery lerning curve is still about straight up lol but i'm starting to feel a little more confident with what i've learned to date, thanks guys for all the help. now i got some EDGE LE-693se FBL's on it to try, i know i'm going to like them too! imo the X7 could do with a boom support brace, the piru rates are rappid and stops like hitting a brick wall! imho this heli is going to rock, good enough for Jehova!!!!!!!!!!! doh!
cheers

yea it is a tank, but a very nimble one ...
I'm running lower HS for now, probably a bit under 1700 (didn't measure).
If you don't use the mixes in the DX7, try some aileron-/elevator-/rudder-to-throttle mixing. It makes a huge difference in full rolls, for example, allows lower overall headspeed => more flight time.
