  • Compass and the uk

Following on from the 7hv thread :- Hi guys it is me the one that watches closely but does not get involved. What you guys say i take on board and will work hard to make the improvements that is needed. I am working on the site as we speak and will make it easier to work and with all the parts on it.
I am the face of compass in westonuk but not the owner so I do what I can do in my powers and i believe in these products or I would not put myself in a position for ridicule. Just a little insight into me as a person im x aircraft engineer from KLM and have been at westonuk for seven years. I have been flying fixed wing since I was 9 and in the last 7 years I have been involved in the heli seen cutting my teeth on a shuttle, then on to the likes of TT50, Robbe, TREX bla ,bla bla..I am a BMFA examiner in fix wing and soon to be sorting my heli side out all going well. Im not the best heli pilot by far but im always getting better aspiring to people like Jamie.
Anyway I am a people person and I am always up for constructional criticism so im only at the end of the phone or PM.. The bottom line guys is I want this to work more than anyone and its not like I get extra money for making it work but I want it to work because I believe its up there with the best brands available. I have always stayed at arms length from the forum due to the bashing Compass gets and being directly involved I thought best to remain a silent watcher but I am going to take a lead out of Dirks book from now on. See you at the shows and comps.

    Hi Steve

Firstly thank you for taking time out to post. I personally think its time now for the heli community in the uk to put the whole issue of the past in the past and start to focus on the future.

I do feel that like it has been mentioned on the other thread that its time now for weston to get more involved into the rc heli community and get to some events. I will openly invite weston to the rcha flyin event in july.

Lets start to build some bridges and move forward.
    Cheers
    Stuart

Hi Steve, nice to see you listening to what the people are saying.

I can only echo what Stuart says about people in the UK forgetting about the past history with Compass as I find it boring everytime Compass is mentioned that gets mentioned too.
I believe the recent heli's Compass are bringing out are just as good and better in some cases than other brands and it looks like they are doing the right thing.

So onwards and upwards as they say and you are more than welcome to join Gareth and the rest of us at PMHC any time you would like to (when the 7HV is out would be a good time ;) )

Welcome Steve :) if you ever feel like bringing some of those helix down to ARA for us to have a thrash of, be my guest :) It would be good to see Weston taking a more active role in the heli community, and I'm sure you would reap the rewards.

from here & delivering it to those at compass who dont listen to anyone.

Good luck :) .. TBH I still fly a Knight 3D and love the thing ... But am afraid that my loyalty might change when I run out of parts .. Which might be a few years yet lol.....

              Hello Steve, Nice Post :)

Balancing the time to make the posts and keep an eye on the forums etc i know can be tricky and i'm sure we will all appreciate a few more posts just to see that Compass are around live and kicking in the uk. Maybe get a couple of "forum reps" on board to post for you ?.

Hope you have my comments constructive as a certainly meant them that way. I know its difficult to be a brand in a brand and the conflicts therin that can arise but as you've said the Compass Line is a strong line, with a lot of supporters in the uk, its only the lack of support thats seem them move.

Can they be won back, for that the'd have to be improvements that you know of already, and i'm sure if you attend the meets through the year you'll see that this will be a positive step and be possible.

Look forward to seeing the progress of the 7HV :)

              Kind Regards
              Ian

                Hi Steve,

great to hear you and Weston are going to move forward. Great news, i hope you (we :) )can revive this subforum and the interest in Compass. As said before Compass can compete with the best brands in the business, now we need the UK-guys to jump on the wagon ;)

If it's ok for you i will still be posting news, but let me know if you prefer it to go otherwise.

                Grtz,

I'm posting this before I've read the 7HV thread(I'm off to read it now ;) )

I've had and read of issues with Weston in the past but when my Atom needed some obscure bits a while back I phoned up and got put onto Steve and he sorted me out 110% so in my opinion he's a good guy. I've not had to call him again because nothings worn out yet that I didn't have in stock and I've not busted it either :D

Loved my Knight 3D and my Atom, I reckon they all get far less good press than they deserve ;)

I just have to say i had a knight sport (til it got nicked) and it was a good robust nearly unbrakeable mechine. it flew stright and and went where it was put. ok was a bit heavy but that made it stable.

Great heli i will miss it...

Always had good service from weston as mentioned before, especially Steve. Good on you for making the effort Steve. Your more than welcome to bring the range to MK Flyin in July.

Thanks guys for your support and offers. Stuart thanks for the offer and its on the calendar for RCHA. Ben I fear if I come up to yours I might not come back with anything if the bad luck of Gareth catches hold of me lol but hay why not or is that only when I have a 7HV in my hands for you to play. Jamie it would be good to catch up with you and Ian and rest of the crew so I will T up with u some time or Ian to come down and let you have a play with some product.. Mike we have plenty of K3D parts to keep you going for a good few years so keep on going. Dirk you do a great job mate so you just keep on going mate and I can just eco our excitement over the products. Cheers for the invite Waveydavey to the MK fly in but unfortunately I run a fly in/ open day on the isle of sheppy At my home club BPMFC so I personally wont be able to attend but I will see if I can get some one up there to attend. On that point as well not that I want to conflict with MK fly in but any people that wish to attend Bpmfc are more than welcome you just need to be A ticket or more to fly.. very easy going weekend with camping and would be good to get some more heli people along. We have great support from Jamie and the Ashford crew but more would be great. Once again thanks guys and im here if you need me.

Be good to see compass making a comeback in the uk, my knight 3d was great machine and I am the newer models have only improved more so.
Need to see some of the newer stuff flying at events as they are few and far between.
                          Wishing you all the best

Hi murph yes and no... On the head everything all bar the spindle and blade grips due to the 8mm upgrade, boom and all the rear is the same inc belt. Main running gear and clutch all the same and all the swash and mixing arms the same as well and last but not least the main frame and servo tray the same. That is deff a sport and not a pro you have because the pro is nothing like the same.
                              All the best
