  • removing the clutch?

    Evening all,

    What is the easiest way to remove the clutch?. I have the engine out but can't get the clutch off!!

    All help would be appreciated.

    Undo the screws (obviously) and then apply some heat to the top of the fan where the clutch is to soften any thread lock. A hair dryer, heat shrink gun or similar will do it.

    You can gently tap the clutch from the underside, but make sure you do this evenly on opposing sides, and only tap in between the two clutch arms, and not at their ends. Use a piece of hard wood to tap it, nothing metal.

    If theres a hole straight through to the engine nut, you can insert a bar through the clutch and tap this, but you risk damaging the bearing and/or engine nut/crank if you are too ham fisted.

    Heat is the key!

      Manageg to prise it off with a knife rather than tapping it.
