• Knight Flown!!!

All,

After several issues and bad weather my Knight as at last been flown!

3D Basher took her up twice today after a good 2 hours pre-checking/setup.

BBT's put on it for the 2nd flight seemed okay and stable.

Just needs belt tighting.

CSM 560 and 9254 tail servo just kept the tail spot on.

So thanks to 3DBasher and Dave at the club today for all the help.

Both predators are metal frame's and so far love the Gasser cheap to run.

Lee has said i'll get 3-4 flights from a US gallon with the 90

Going to look at fuel again may ring skyline again and LMC about wildcat
see if we can get a Club deal maybe, after all no local shop anymore....

I know Hobbins in my book was not the best model shop and I often said that "if they won't stock it how can we buy it?" but in a way Lincoln has always had a Hobbins so kinda sad in that way....But hey ho.

Can't understand the issue with our local shops, they never seem to want to stock synthetic fuel, even though there are clubs around Lincoln that have a good number of pilots that want it.

By the sounds of it you will be needing to do a bulk order just for yourself...LOL:D

If I still worked on the farm I'd consider making fuel in bulk as I'd have the storage space.

But yes this year may cost me in fuel....

Prefer fuel cost vs repair bills any day though

Knight 50 is my throw around model now, Predator 90 is something to work upto.

Feeling cheap i'll just fly the Gasser :p

Thats a bit on the low side! :)
Unless you're using a massive fuel tank (do they exist?), you should get around 7 flights per gallon on a 90 :D
Cheers.

So this year does that mean you are going to spend more time flying for yourself????? You'll never get that B if you keep giving your flying time away.

Hope this doesn't come across wrong...think I kinda worded it right???

Yea I want to fly more for me this year.

Just one last person Sam to get solo, which should take maybe 1-2 days.

Just going to go back to basics again so I aam happy with nice smooth turns then back to my other stuff again.

Hi mate,
I'm a little suprised at that still.
I don't have a Raptor 90 personally, but a guy I fly with does (it's a V Max now) and I'm certain he gets roughly 7 per US gallon.
Seems odd that, eh!! :D
LOL

Whats the volume of the tank?
Cheers,

Disc

Hoping to get out for the first flights with my Predator 90 tommorow, if I can borrow a beefier starter ! mine hasnt arrived yet. Spent the last couple of nights doing the canopy that was the spare everyday one that he threw in with the deal it looks great with the stickers on it!

Ive ordered all the conversion stuff for mine from USA to put the zenoah 231 that I have in my other Futura! so eventuall it will be gasser! but for now I want to enjoy it with the YS91 in while I have three gallons of 20 percent Magnum left!

Dave

Well the Gasser version of mine is fine.

You won't need a starter for the gasser version get a Pull start for it.

Its the better option

Dread to think if my starter will have enough poweer to turn over the YS.... I hadn't considered that yet!

I'll just have to go when 3DBasher is flying to get it started!

But then I won't get to fly the Predator as he'll be to busy flying it
