  • Is the Compass Warp any good compared to a trex 450??

I have a Trex 450 with a DFC head and put simply I'm not satisfied with the way it flies.
Is a Compass running a 6S battery going to be any better as I have been offered one.

    Thanks for your opinions

I have flown the older 3s 450 pro and own the warp. The warp swings 360mm blades so feels better and also capable of flying as silly low head speeds due to its carbon grips. Also has a bigger presence in the air from its larger canopy.

I found the pro on 3s with 325's to need high head speed / short flight times also needed a fair bit of maintenance on the tail. The warp just works.

Never flown a trex 450 but very impressed with my Warp. Looks a lot bigger than a std 450, flies really well and makes a cool noise.

Really like mine. Love the low hs (1600 rpm) it just sits and floats around then i can whack it up to 3200 and its an angry wasp..

Yep the warp is arguably the best 450 size heli out there and as others have pointed out the 6s configuration and larger blades makes it feel more like a 500.

Things to note are that I have found it easier to see (stock blades are all black) and has a nicer feel with the edge 353 blades and tail.

The build is tricky to get right as the belt guide unit requires a careful build and placement in the frame and the tail mechanism is a pig to get just right. But if you are happy to tinker with it to get the setup just right you will be rewarded with an excellent model.

You should ask Graham how it crashes ! I stuffed mine doing an inverted circuit a bit low .....
              Damage was
              Boom
              1 blade
              1 servo gear set
              Skids
              Canopy mount
Not to bad as it went in at 3100 rpm

Also had count less misshaps that I have just picked it up and flown after with :)

the day you'll assemble your Warp and put side to side to your Trex 450, you'll understand :) It looked very beefy side-by-side with my Sport V2 - tail twice thicker, pulleys/main gears etc twice bigger, much bigger canopy, etc. Much much less slop in the head and the tail, very noticeable precision in flight. Not to mention the unique all-belt drive sound! Noone these days has a right to say their opinion about 450 class without trying Warp:)

Loved the build of my Warp, goes together far better than the 450 & I prefer the electronics layout, far easier to place items ;)

I'm running 1400mAh gens ace. Fit fine and get 5 mins at 3200 rpm with 30% left in the battery. 8-9 mins when flying with 1600 rpm.
Feels totally different to my 450pro. Steve at Westons has lots of spares if needed.

I have a Trex 450 Pro v2 DFC FBL running a AR7200BX. Love it to bits. I've just bought a Warp 360. I'm now selling the Trex. Has that answered your question?

100% agree. I couldnt find any Edge 353's so went with the Spin 350's. Edge 60 tail is very visible. Also running the Turnigy 1800Mah batteries with the canopy in the forward position. Balances perfectly.

I figured that out a couple of months ago after originally posting this; I sold my 450pro and replaced it with a Warp too.

Running the 1800mAh zippy batteries too, no need to move the canopy forward though.
After killing the original blades I am now trying a set of Trex dominator blades, they are very stiff and well priced.
Got KBDD plastic tail blades, the original black ones are made out of chewing gum lol.

Will be putting a mini Vbar on it soon, put one on my 550 and loved it, going to put them on all my models soon.

Nice :-) I found that there was no way I could get the CoG setup correctly without moving the battery well forward. I'm still running the AR7200BX and YEP80amp ESC so figure theres very little weight up-front compared to people running separate BEC's, Sats and the additional cabling required. With the AR7200 its all very, very neat and tidy but means I have to push the battery well up-front to get it to balance.

I can also recommend the MSH Brain/IKON.. I have one on my 550 DFC and it fly's beautiful :-)
