  • Razor CX Assembly question?

    Hi, good wishes to all

I have a problem where my Razor will not lift off and just spins, I have only replaced the main rotor blades and it flew before that. On inspection of the lower blade holder, it appears to be able to spin freely - should this be the case or should it be fastened to the lower shaft, there appears to be a small hole part way up the shaft but nothing screwed into it. Should the lower blade holder be pinned to the shaft or does it turn under centifugal force, if this is the case i feel the lower blade set is not acheiving enough head speed to contradict the upper set. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as the manual isnt much help at all.

    Many Thanks

    Hi Gary,
I'm fairly certain that the lower hub should be fixed to the shaft, otherwise you'd lose drive and have no lift.

Are there any screws in the lower blade holder to pin in it place?

I have the same problem. The gear should attached to the shaft. In my case the upper gear which attached to the outer shaft and runs the lower blade keeps slipping.

The gear is only held on with two small screws which run through the gear and onto the shaft, the shaft does not have flats on it (it does for the lower gear) and so the screws obviously struggle to hold the gear in place.

What is the common fix? glue lol? grind flats onto shaft?

What have people done to sort this out on this or indeed other helicopters?

Thanks in advance to anyone that has the time to help

      James
