Fbl avro

Thinking of trying to convert my Avro to flybarless using a Beast x but unsure if there is a head for it.
Has anyone got any recommendations for a head or any experience.

Subject to the diameter and length of the mainshaft I can't see a problem Paul.

Converting it should be a breeze TBH.:)

The first thought I have looking at the way the Avro head is designed, it looks like if you could remove the mixer arms from the grips and connect a ball link where the mixer arm is now, use something like a Trex 700 ball link that stands off the grip a bit. Then it would just be a matter of a swash driver.

use a trex/vario etc driver

take a look at the pics of a sceadu to see how easy a stock head is to convert

The SG head got mine of Stuart done his N9 looks good to use on the Raptor 90, expensive but fully programmable.

Have a word with Neil.. I did see a pic of an FBL avro in germany that he produced a head for...suspect it was just a stock head without the seesaw drilled and then an adaptor on the grip arms..

Converted my Synergy N9 using the stock head and mixer arms. That way I didn't have to muck about with the servo throws. For the fixed pivot rod attaching to the mixer I used a mixture of Align 700 and Mikado ball links, and used an Align swash driver. Flies beautifully. Using the mixer mechanical function on the blade grips reduces the strain on the servos too.

Would suggest your first port of call would be Blitz themselves as Dave Fischer has played around with FBL and would be able to advise.

Sent them an email but they said sorry they could not help right now.
Was hoping for a new head I could just bolt on but it seems that I may have to see if I can convert the original one.

To be fair Tim they are normally very good with advice but I agree its a bit frustrating.
The trouble is the avro is one of the nicest flying 90s for me to learn on and I could not let her go.

I was just musing to myself about an fbl avro and 'having a surf'.
A few have been done..both with custom grip arm extensions or 'one original way back when' with a blitz headblock that wasnlt machined for the flybar carrier and also rjx heads.

Interestingly looking at rjz heads for 90-size helis with a 10mm mainshaft they cost more than for a 12mm shaft. OK that could be excused on production volume but (superficially) it looks like it's cheaper to make it up from spares than buy as a complete unit? Unless I'm missing something.

One rjx based conversion has the mainshaft custom drilled lower down on the shaft...15mm from the top..sits the head down lower and looked seriously sexy with the way Blitz sits low anyway.

It had me daydreaming about my blitz with a cgy750..

Somehow it doesn't seem right to put an rjx head on..even though they are very nice and shiny..perhaps a petition to Neil?

There's a guy on RR with a FBL Avro. He has two and one has something like 800 flights on it. But the Avro has one
of the best flybarred heads around. To me it's nearly perfect, super stable but very responsive, I can't imagine
wanting to put a Beast X on it. I will probably decomission my Ely.Q thus liberating the BeastX and it started
me thinking, would I put it on another heli and if so which one? Maybe the 500? But only if it's really going
to be some kind of improvement, so the Avro would be be way down the list. I'd convert a Robbe first just
for the novelty factor.
