I wonder how many new ones they sell each year. I start to think maybe there becomes a certain number in 'circulation' and the market is saturated.

..they were designed/built for a specialist market that is moving to electric??...but doesn't stop them being a great machine.

Squeaky Pete had a play with mine for me at the w/e and made some comments I'm addressing..certainly ended up with more power after he'd tuned it... and the compression on the SZ is brilliant from my original refurb (bearing/ring) and the crank pressure system floods the tank with air enough to really stir the fuel (cline carb modded).

Apart from SP's reservations re the way the tail is currently set-up I got the impression he was suprised by the performance....???

Yeah the rest of the market is geared towards 3D and although the Avro has the ability to be setup for 3D flying I think everyone has had the impression that it's an FAI machine and it gets passed by in favour of the Srimoks, Auroras, N9s etc.
