why limit what you do with the avo
don't treat it with kid glove as when you do your more likely to crash it
my turbulence is flown in the same manner as my other pod and boom helis
and my most expensive crash was with one of my scale helis that had an in flight mechanical failure

the avro like all high end helis was made to be flown

You are correct, I need to get out more and fly,then the confidence will come, too many people spend to much time making them look nice instead of flying them - me included!

They have a saying at our field 'If Pete didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all'
I have cratered that field with heli-prangs over the last 3-4 years and stuffing things like my spectra in 4 times at around £600 a crater starts to hurt (although 2 were pilot and 2 mechanical)
The last two holes were down to the weird problem on my 12FG - but still it's repair time and money.
Last year i decided that logic had to apply...Sim, 450 or 500 until solid then and only then work up thw new move on 600 then 700 then the high-end boys.
It's all very well to argue the theory that the better heli is going to fly better and forgive more - and they do BUT equally practicing autos on a bird with £25 blades and £25 for a skid/boom/fin makes a lot more sense than using a heli with £130 blades and £100 for boom,torque fin/skid...
My learning curve is sloooow...

I try to fly spectra and blitz every couple of weeks but I tend to fly the others twice a week.

If you're local enough then welcome to fly either so long as you pay for any parts/wear: I'm not selfish with them.

Just curious, did you sell your Avro or are you motivated now to fly it more? I'm still getting used to mine and need to fly it
more and get more comfy with it but so far it is really inspiring.

Along the way of learning inverted circuits I decked my 450 twice and 500 once. I was crowing off-list to Sheryl that I'd had the bottle to fly inverted circuits on my Blitz a couple of weeks ago. Decking that three times would have hurt...

Hi trillian, good to here you are having fun with your Avro, I did sell mine a while ago and then sold my Trex 500, I use 2 Trex 700's the first is set up for 3D and the second setup for F3C, I find flying the same shape and size heli has brought me on quicker than when I had too many choices, I have started working through all the manoeuvres for Clubman & F3N schedules (refer to The AHA website for diagrams and video's) and am competing in my first Clubmans Comp this weekend in Scotland.

Cool! Best of luck with that. I need to be a bit more discipined about my flying and practise a move until I get it down
rather than just zipping around the sky. I have looked at the Clubmans schedules and have setup a Hirobo evo 50
as well for FAI style flying so I'm not burning quite so much fuel. I was planning to go for my BMFA B cert this year
and need to work on that as well (and it ties in very nicely since there is a heavy element of hovering but the
rest is quite easy). So I'm getting there slowly but surely and maybe next year I can try my hand at a Clubmans
comp.
