OK here's one for the Vintage guys. I have reference in a UK radio control magazine from 1978 to a Helicopter called ANGEL. No Idea of make or what it looked like so, anybody got any info.......................
Hm! Yes, I seem to recall that one! I think the designer's name was Tim Angel? He started off with an autogyro, which from memory was one of the few successful ones around. He then developed a full blown chopper from it. Iirc, it was a bit like a Lark - very simple structure and mechanics. I only ever saw one once. It flew with a ridiculously low head-speed, which I thought would make it quite wallowy, but in fact, it wasn't bad at all on the controls.
I only remember them being available very briefly. No idea what happened to them, which is a bit of a shame, 'coz it wasn't a bad machine......

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.
I thought you might know something. Just been reading up on the Flybarless Lark which I believe you flew. Fixed pitch as well...... Would suprise the modern V-bar trend who seem to think that you need electronic everything for it to work. Rather like the later 'Tyke', difficult to find much on it.
Thanks for the info and see you at charmouth? Regards joe

Reason: Crap spelling
Yes, I'll be there! Won't have the Lark this time though - I just couldn't fit it in!
I'm fetching the DS-22 down ('coz you said you were fetching your Cobra!), and between that and the big Bell 47, that just about fills the car! I'm putting a couple of smaller models in that I'm hoping to sell, but the car is already bulging at the seams.....! (Got to load up tonight - long shift tomorrow, and another commitment on Friday is going to stop me making my usual early getaway to Charmouth.....

Unfortunately my plans for this leave have gone badly astray due to a serious family problem which has meant 100 of my helicopters having to come back to the house and it has taken all my time to get them put into storage which has involved stripping about 50 of them down and putting into boxes for future rebuilding. So, none are flyable........... Plus the DS22, Kavan Jetranger and my Bell 212 all have duff engines requiring overhaul.
