  • Titan x50 build

Hi started building my x50 and getting all the bits together just wondering what battery pack to go
For, in my raptor 50 Titan I use a 5000 mah nimh 4.8v which works great .would this size pack be
    Ok for the x50 ?

I use a 2s lipo and regulator in my X50, What servos, Rx and gyro etc are you using? But the Nimh pack should be okay, its whether that size pack will make the heli nose heavy, which is what i found when building mine.

      Great kit to build though

Thanks i will be using align 610s on the cyclic 650 or 655 on the tail and going to try a align 780 gyro as i have one lying around, and spectrum ar6200 rx, i have two 3s 2200 lipos
that i use on my small 400 electric heli if i use one of these how long do they last as my nimh last me all day on one charge,

I'm using those servos too (plus a 620 for throttle) they're only rated to 6v so you will need to use a regulator if going lipo. I think mine is a hobby wing/overlander but not sure without looking. If you're going to run 3s you'll need to buy a regulator that can take the higher voltage. my 2200 2s normally lasts most of the day. although I have 3s 2200s that I can use too

I have a 3800 4.8V NiMh in my X50 and it works fine. I have JR digital servos which aren't supposed to be used at 6V, so I'm happy with this setup.

To be honest, the answer lies within yourself and what type of flying you do. If you're a hard-core stick banger flying every 20 minutes for 6 hours at a time, then you need a big capacity battery, like a LiPo or LiOn etc. But, if you're a steady flyer, maybe 2 or 3 flights an afternoon type of guy (like me), then a 4000 mAh NiMh is more than adequate. Just be sure it's fully charged before you go to the field.

I'm using straight li po in mine but mate uses same servo as you are and using a reg
one thing your find I'd if going li po route with or without reg the x50 is quite tail heavy
im using a 4200mah to get the c of g right
mate is using smaller but needing to add stick on weight
I'd rather have usable weight so bare this in mind when using a li po

Thanks for the replies guys all built now really good build everything fitted great found a few mistakes in the manual but not a big problem ,changed the paddles for the heavyer black ones, changed the
rod guides on the tail boom for the titan ones as these are clamped with a screw and not glued on ,changed the canopy mounting posts for thumb screw type as i think the push on will crack the canopy
in the end ,apart from that well pleased with the build, i am going to using a dx6i and only used to 90 degrees swash plate, as this is 120 the swash mix is used i need to know if the values on this setting
should be kept the same or is this setting used like the travel ajust setting so the servos are set so they are not binding, thanks.

hi guys could some of you post pics of your electric install?
i have bought all align electronics and looking for best place to install them,
i got the align 2 in 1 regulator which comes with a 1900 batt , 620's on cyclic and throttle and 650 on tail with a gp780 gyro.
servos are in and cables run to front of heli just not sure how to put batt, reg , gyro and rx on .

                  many thanks

                  Matt.
