Great heli isn't it? I like mine - simple and does what it says on the tin.

The X50 skids are (I believe) lightweight versions of the original solid Raptor skids, so you can use the solid ones as an alternative. However, I've never managed to break my original X50 ones and I regularly auto.

I got a new gyro going into mine later this evening hopefully - replacing the Futaba GY601 with a Spartan DS760.

this was the 3rd tank one tank in the garden just ticking over ,one tank just pitch hovering , and 3rd tank which i call maiden, loops, rolls inverted not pushing it to hard as still new engine so just loading and of loading it ,sure got a lot of confidence from it (hence the auto) some thing i lost with the srimok in fear of bending it but was well out of touch with my self and just came in a but to hot flaired a little bit late. But over all very happy. i have a quark on it not much to say about the quark apart from solid just solid.
thanks for the info on the skids

My experience is the skids always break in a heavy landing or crash - they are built to be lightweight and dont take any abuse. Broke a new set last week on thier second flight when my clunk line split while inverted. I'm back to using Trex 600 skids which are much stronger and look good, but you have to use the 600 canopy clips to fit over the front skid.

The X50 is not as robust as the previous TT heli, I've a few issuses with bits breaking in flight - once the clutch bell sheared around the lightening holes, but I love mine and will probably buy the FBL TT version soon.
It flys 'light' and flys straight, much better than my 600 ever did. I think your going to like it.
        Cheers
