Loose tail assembly

Have just built a new x50 titan fbl (first build) with torque tube and have just done some general hovering purely to run the engine in.. Hovering fine for at least 5 minutes when I noticed the tail unit had rotated around the tube. Shut it down and landed with no damage.
However during the build I did notice that there was a difference from the manual to what was in the kit. The method of securing the tail in the instructions was by a "button" that locked a inner sleeve to the carbon boom.. On mine all I had was a bolt the squeezed the tail assembly onto the boom no sleeve and no button .The only thing I can see that could be the answer is a round hole where the fin is but

Question is what have I done wrong...or am I missing something? I can tighten the bolt up really tight but if I try to twist it will eventually move.. Surely I should not be able to do this...?

If it is supposed to be just one socket screw clamping onto the boom then what could be causing the vibration to make the tail move?

The instructions are deffinatly different to the tail case that you have.
The type of tail case you have is like the align ones where the vertical fin has a plastic spacer that clips into the hole and stops the tail case rotating.

Was the kit brand new?

Yes, was band new and sealed.

Something not right here as it looks like you have the wrong tail case.

That's where I got the kit from!

Was all sealed and in unopened bags..

The tail case you have got is the one for the E700

Having just thought about what i said, it cannot be the e700 tail case as the 700 has a bigger diameter tail boom.
Did you get in the kit that little plastic part that is shown in the e700 tail case picture? this is all that is needed to solve your problem.

No I did not. That plastic part is not shown In the instructions either?

I know that plastic part is not shown, but because the newest kit (e700) uses that style of securing for the tail case, then it is possible that thunder tiger has changed the style on the x50 and not updated the manual.

In any event Fast Lads will sort it and you will be good to go.

With thanks to Andy at Fast Lads, he identified that the black plastic item in Kroozings post #8 above was indeed the offending item. Put that into the fin side of the assembly vertically and secured with the fin bolts and in conjunction with the socket bolt on the other side, the tail is locked solid. yey.
