I have a E550, the sport is just an updated version. I love mine, its great for bombing around the patch.
Model Helicopter World did a very good review of this model a few months back.
The E550s has carbon lower frames instead of metal, allowing for the lipos to be fitted in from the side. I think the sport also comes with an 11T pinion which give it a balistic head speed, i have fitted a 9T to mine & have a nice low head speed.
I have just converted mine to FBL & it now fly's even better.
They are a great heli for the money.

      Raptor E550S Sport

It's based on the original Raptor E550 that came out around 4 years ago. Rumour has it that Thunder Tiger found a rather large pile of them in one of their warehouses so added some updated bits and rereleased them at a bargain price.

One of the guys in my club had bought one and is very happy with it. Great if your flying style is general flight and mild aerobatics. Not so good if you want to throw it about the sky like a banshee, as she's a heavy bird.

      Cheers

            hi dan22

you had me puzzled seen a few raptors nitro / not electric so the metal side frames put me out ,but i had a look on rc groups pic, yes metal frame i thought it was a typo , never Sean them before must be adding a bit of wait to the model so the one in my link is same model thing but carbon instead i guess .

Yep, metal side frames. You will have a lot less problems finding lipos to fit the new model with carbon lower frames, standard Turnigy & Optipower 5000 6s lipos will fit a treat.

It depends which way around you mean. The x50 head fits on the Raptor 50 and 30's but I think there are additional parts needed. The x50 tail gearbox also fits on the old raptors.
The E550s has the same head and tail box etc as the Raptor 30.

                  Hope this helps,
                  Dan.

I've had one since Christmas and its a great heli for the price, (See my write up and first hover vid)
Had about 30/40 flights with it and very happy with it out the box but I've now converted it into a 600 Titan with metal head and tail.
It flys great as a 600 sport flyer with the stock motor/esc etc with a 6s 5000,
I was'nt too keen on the canopy colours at first but it does grow on you, plus the X50 canopy fits if you want to change it.

Basically seems to be an E550 with the E620 bling, £400 is a steal for a beginner or hack, the official fbl head makes her sing

well i got this heli last week but only got out late yesterday for a quick test & i have to say i am very happy with it , for what it cost i think its a steal in my opinion.
some pics and a short review , this model comes ready built artf you just need transmitter, lipo,& lipo connectors of your choice, receiver & blade holder .
first thing i recommend is take the heli apart ,check every thing , thats just me like .
i found no parts missing, the motor is ready mounted & has bullets ready soldered & slides back & forth on its aluminum mount in the frame ,i like that very easy to set mesh & motor & mount can be removed very easy and fast just by removing two Alan key bolts each side of the frame ,at this point the belt rollers can be clearly seen & checked . the pinion is retained with two grub screws another nice touch.
the top half of the frame is plastic and in three sections / modules, the lower sides are carbon in the form of 2 peaces for each side , with a plastic tray at the base ,i like this setup as its cheap to replace.
the swash is 140 type which my dx7 does not have but it was easy to find a swash mix i found on the web.the frame opening is plenty large to accommodate the lipos i have here , i am using optipower 5000 6s , packs they fit no probs , the only thing i found annoying is the two bits of plastic at the front each side that's part of the battery tray i found got in the way of getting the lipo in i had to jiggle it a to get past them ,i can do a little job their to sort that out later.
the esc is at the rear so i feel its in a safer place than up front another nice touch.
i have the gyro up front right now as shows to be in the destruction's but i am going to order another plate same as the esc is mounted on , think i can fix that below the servos between the carbon frames plenty of room their for the gyro and a little more protection maybe .
the only changes i made to the heli so far are i removed the white paddles & fitted red light wait ones & i am using a spartan quark gyro instead of the supplied one, reason is i am used to the quark & i have it hear with mks bls 980 servo used in the past & it works well, i think the servo supplied would be ok. now that i am thinking of it, the supplies tail servo has plastic gears but all the others are metal geared in the kit, i also never liked the two rods held together with the two grub screw thingy from the tail to the servo if fitted in the front servo tray .
so i used a servo mount plate from a friend to mount the servo at the rear of the frame i just needed to drill a hole for one bolt & cut 5mm off the plate ,then i cut up a carbon rod from servo to tail.

well only had a few quick goes late yesterday evening, but this heli fly's very well it was windy & it was not a problem after setting the tail gain on the first pack ,had a bit of slow drift a change of tape sorted that, next pack i did just a few fast passes & turns, this thing really moves , the three of us hear all fly loges ect , and we all thought it moved fast for a 6s machine, did a few flips rolls inverted punch outs ,but then it was time to go home had to go out that evening.
overall i think its a good heli & plenty of power from the stock motor i was running + - 12 pitch & 1900, servos seem good ,we changed out the tail blades for a carbon set . i think it will be maybe 7 + min on a 6s pack not sure yet but it seemed quit efficient, but ill no more next time out .
something that's not in my manual is the max head speed for this heli if anyone noes then please let me no , all i see in the manuall is warning to much head speed head will explode something like that

here is a vid not me but just shows the heli.
