Smokey raptor 30

Hi guys. I've been having a bit of a fly around with my Raptor 30 earlier and thought perhaps she was running a bit rich. Now, I'm far from being any kind of expert.
I set the needle to factory setting which is 2 1/2 turns from closed and gone back in about a 1/3 of a turn.
Not getting any running problems but it does throw out a fair bit if smoke.
I'm using 10% in an OS 32sx. and an OS No. 8 plug.

I've done a little video so you can see. Please excuse the dodgy hovering lol.

Looks fine to me.

the os32 normaly ends up around 1 1/2 turns out om low nitro fuel
make of fuel,nitro content,oil type,weather, climate, sea level, exhaust, blades and head speed all play a part in the final settings
but for hovering around the rich setting is fine and will help to keep the engine cool

Looks fine to me too, mine smokes just like that and the backplate stays nice and cool. I use a TT39 with a Weston UK pipe and 12% Opti fuel.

Thanks for the feedback. It's reassuring to know that it is set some where near and that's good enough for me.

Kev. Have you got a video of your Raptor 90 I wouldn't mind a look.

Sheldrake. I like the canopy too. It was plain white when I first had it and a bit hard to see against grey skies so me and one of the lads from work come up with that design but I haven't got the touch to spray like that so he did it for me. It gives a much better visual now. I will try and get another video done soon.

are you sure thats not a thunder tiger advert picture as the x50 green canopy was nice bright and shiney like yours on the ads
and in the real world its a darker green

I'm innocent sir honest !
I never saw no advert wiv a X 50 thing on it. Its not copywriting counterfeiting!
Just my imagination.


On a serious note. I had a look around for some decals but couldn't find one I really liked so I asked a lad in work if he wanted to have a go at spraying a heli canopy for a change from cars ones.
