  • TT Mini Titan v1SE or v2?

    Hi All,

Just thought i'd pick your brains regarding the Mini Titans.

I'm looking to get myself a 450 size heli soon and have decided i want a mini titan. However i'm stuck as to which one to get the v1SE or the newer v2?

I'm fairly new to helis and have a trex 250 at the mo which i can just about hover ok (now the faulty parts have been replaced).

Which do you guys think would be better for a newbie?

    Cheers,
    Andi

Well I have a V1 SE which i learnt on and love to fly. It has a great natural stick feel. I'd imagine there isn't going to be a huge deal of difference in the actual feel of the heli because i'm pretty sure i remember reading that the head design is actually the same and lots of the parts are shared but the main frame design is now CF frames instead of plastic which is meant to create a stiffer heli. Tbh i', not sure if you'd even notice it. (hard for me to judge because i've not flown the new one) The spare parts will be more expensive on the V2 for the frames but if u go for the V1 your investing in an older version... On the plus side you could get a great deal on a second hand V1SE and as if by magic i'm actually slimming my fleet down and selling my V1SE atm if ur after a used one?
Whatever u end up getting i hope it flys well fella!
    Regards, Ross

      Cheers for the info Ross,

I'm not quite ready to buy one yet (am skint atm thanks to a dodgy brake caliper on my car).

Once i have the cash i'll drop you a PM and see if you still have it.

      Cheers,

Both v1 & v2 are almost the same there's more a price difference than parts so id go for v1
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

              Hi

TBH i have the v1 got a great bargin on it, great heli i must say.. I wud think long term as u will progress and want more n bigger heli, so buy the v1 as it alot cheaper so ul save money from not buying v2 n invest it in a bigger heli as u learn.

                Cheers for the info guys.

Will probably go for a v1SE (new or used) if i can find one at a decent price (once my wallet has recovered from the garages massive bill).

Any reccomendations on Cyclic Servos, Tail Servo & Gyro?

I have read the Hitec HS-5065mg's are a good choice for cyclics.

Was also thinking about a spartan quark for the gyro, but have no clue on a good matching tail servo.

A good matching tail servo would be Futaba 9257!

Blimey don't get many reminders of the old Mini T's, still got mine its not as aggressive as my pro so don't fly it much but still nice to get out of the closet from time to time.
