  • Best motor for mini titan?

    Hi,
Today, it seems that the motor in my mini titan has decided to fail, the bearings are shot i reckon. I just wondered what aftermarket motor is best to use in the mini titan, or 450 size heli? Just for general sport flying and stuff.
    Cheers.

If it is the bearings and you are happy with the motor cheapest option would be replacing the bearings

Not sure what the best motor option is for the MT but at a guess best bang for your quid would be something from Scorpion

Scorpion -8 is good but if you want mental go with the -6. Got one on my 450 and its so much fun!! Sucks the life out of the lipos though with a max of 4 minutes in idle up!!!

I use the 3550kv motor from sportsmoto (you will need the 13 tooth pinion as well) its a good motor for general sport flying and IMO it has more power than the original TT motor, it also runs much cooler.

Dismantled the motor with a view to replacing the bearings, but they seem fine. But the outer case had 3mm or so of vertical play in it. The grub screw that holds the outer case to the shaft had come loose, letting it all move about. Re assembled it all, but it still seems tight to turn when its hot after a flight.

Not at all happy with this motor, for some reason it tightens right up after couple minutes of use. So have ordered a Scorpion -8. Thanks for all your replies and help guys!

Several times now on my motor the pot slips on the shaft & gets hot same time makes a bearing noise so assuming its the same motor you need to loosen the screw on top of the pot slighly lift the pot, put a drop of loctite in the top then just lift pot up & down to spread loctite then secure screw.
                    Mines been fine since.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
