  • Which radio is best for Mini Titan

    Hi,

I have been learning to fly with some lesser models (CX2, Twister etc..) and it's time to move on. I am going to get the Mini Titan as it get such good reviews on here and the spare parts are reasonably priced. As I have alway brought ready to fly models I do not have a radio set that I can put in it. What do people recommend? I do not want to spend the earth but I want one that is future proofed. I have been looking at the Spektrum DX7 but looking at various websites I have the following versions:

    SPEKTRUM DX7 MICROLITE DSMS 7CH MD2 RX+TX 3 SERVOS
    SPEKTRUM DX7 DSM 7CH MD2/4 RX/TX 4 SERVOS
    DX7 2.4GHz 7-channel Programmable System Featuring DSM2 Mode 1
    DX7 2.4GHz 7-channel Programmable System Mode 2

Obviously I need the servos but whats the difference between Mode 1 and 2? What's the difference between DSM or DSMS? I don't want to blow £200+ on the wrong radio.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Well! the mode 1 is when the throttle is on the right and mode 2 is throttle on the left.

if ya flying helis .. mode 2 all the way ... and have you thought about futaba 2.4 FF7 ... bout the same price as a DX7 ... Personally if ya gonna be getting a 2.4 ghz radio .. only go with the 7 channels as it will take ya alot further than a 6 channel one ... also look for ones with no servos then ya can choose ya own ... at the end of the day the choice will be yours ...and as for the dsm tech cant help ya there am afraid ... jr/spekky have there model match so the model with only work with that memory ... and futaba has the channel hopping so it's going thru channels all the time for a clear signal ... Each has there pros and cons ...I own a FF7 2.4ghz and also have use spekky and tbh not alot in it between em both ....

If it is the DS821 Servo's, you cant use them in a Mini Titan, they are too big, best just to buy a TX/RX combo, then buy decent servo's for the heli!
