  • MINI TITAN e325 main shaft issue

    Hi everyone,

trying to replace the main shaft on my mini titan......the original part was pv0704 (main shaft) which has been replaced by pv0802 (hardened main shaft)

but looks like the hardened main shaft wont fit the one way shaft (pv0726) which is inside the main gear...it gets stuck I tried using wd40 still no luck...

did any one come across this issue or is it just me????

    any suggestions guys?

    regards.
    md

Yes I also have, you need to file the edges of the holes on the main shaft.

You have two holes in main shaft & often found that when pushing shaft through the oneway bearing it gets stuck at point of the holes that are in the main shaft so need to file outer edges of holes but if youforce the main shaft in you will damage the oneway bearing, imo best to keep with std shafts as the hardened shaft do more damage in a crash.

I've had mine about five years now and cos of the price of MT parts converted few parts with Align 450 parts including main shaft and aneway bearing, in the invent of a crash works out much cheaper

This doesn't make any other heli more perfect its just something we all come across from time to time, you new it wasn't going in correctly but continued to force it, give me a reminder tomorrow and ill post you out a oneway bearing to get you out of throuble.

Just thinking about it but would need to recheck mine, all you would need is Align 450 mainshaft and main gear if this is the case ill post them out instead but ether way you can have em if interested.

Just spoke to Buzzbird, according to him all main shaft should go inside the one way shaft easily without any modification...he thinks I got a dodgy batch of main shaft from helikraft hong kong.....

Jim thanks for the info but its something you can easily get confused..........there are 3 components
                      1.the main shaft
2.the main gear with one way bearing
                      3.One way shaft

I got spare main shaft, main gears...but I don't have a one way shaft ( PV0726 One Way Shaft)

mate I have a one way bearing (big nut) which I hammered inside the main gear...I don't think I will need it....I am sure its something to do with the one way shaft and the main shaft either one of them is faulty........

regarding the align gear and main shaft....I am a total noob and I follow the mini titan manual.....if you send me the align gear and shaft i don't think it will fit.

I've just taken an unused one way bearing and an unused hardened mainshaft and had the exact problem md001 had. I found by using an old mainshaft and forcing it in through the bottom, and then sliding it repeatedly in and out the shaft now goes in smoothly.

It's because the top opening in the one way shaft is slightly narrower at the top by a few thousandths, almost a tiny lip probably a manufacturing fault. I found that out because the main shaft went all the way in and was then stopped by this unnatural lip at the top of the one way shaft. You can wear it smooth by repeated in and out with a main shaft, and then the one way's good to go.

Not a problem you would encounter if your one way shaft is well-used, like mine is. But as the one way isn't a consumable item, you should only have to do this the once and the one way's fine from then on.
In an ideal world we shouldn't have to resort to this, but that's life. Manufacturing issues happen.

Hmm guys looks like this whole thing is a puzzle and this is what i found.............observation

my old standard main shaft can go easily in n out of the one way shaft ---from top and bottom...no problem

Number 1 HK hardened main shaft goes inside 1 cm from the bottom and then gets dead stuck.......no way i can force it since i cut my hands hammering that bloody thing..i am sure its a faulty shaft a thick one

Number 2 HK shaft actually goes in a bit more further than the 1st one...like almost half way and then gets stuck....

i am really confused spent 4 hours dealing with this stupid Heli.................only thing i can think of is order new set of main shaft and oneway shaft from uk supplier and see what it looks like...

thanks to jim and buzz...you guys tried to help me a lot....at this moment tbh don't even feel like touching the heli....so ima take a break from this and wait for things to settle down.........god bless you guys and thanks once again for all the help.
