  • LIPo battery charger REC

    Hello,

Need a good lipo charger which can charge 11.1v 2200mah 25c 3s lipo batteries for my TT mini titan....any recommendation???

I already have one stock ace rc charger but was looking for another charger to save some time, since this one takes around 1.5 hours+ to charge.

If you are planning on being in the hobby for a while a decent charger makes a big difference. I have a PL6 and it is great. Makes charging effortless.

      Cheers

yeah as said, you need a find a balance. Are you sticking to 450, or do you honestly feel that you will upgrade in near-ish future to something larger? No point getting a PL6 if not, but if you think you might, I would recommend just stumping up now and saving yourself in the long run. This is a lesson I'm still trying to learn 4 years into the heli hobby lol.

I like the iChargers personally, and this is ideal at £65: iCharger 106B+ « ElectriFlyer

250W and will charge up to 6S at 10A. You could parallel charge 4 of your 2200 3S LiPos in under and hour. Are you sorted for a power supply?

They don't currently have stock, but I'm sure this will be replenished soon enough.

mate I had one stock ace lipo and it got messed up by the motor so I will order couple batteries....but I need a charger and need some thing which is easy to use with ec3 connectors ( like many chargers have complex digital stuffs to do which I can never understand)...so I need something standard priced...but could pay a bit more if I can charge like many batteries at the same time. also need a good website where I can find it

I would personally take the time to learn and understand it mate. LiPos are not batteries you can bung on charge and leave like NiCads, and they can potentially be very dangerous. That iCharger like most modern LiPo chargers has some very nice features that should make life easier (and safer) for you.

Rule of thumb with LiPos is not discharge beyound 80% of their capacity (a 2200mAh should never be discharge so much that it needs more than 1760mAh putting back in) and don't take the cell voltage below ~3.3v. Don't allow them to charge above 4.2, and make sure the packs are always balance (so that each cell is the same voltage).

These are just the basics, lots of articles on the net about LiPo safety.
