Hi all...recently got this Thunder tiger mini e325 with cobra Ah-1w fuse but never got the chance to fly it since on my first attempt I messed up my main gear. However I replaced the main gear couple of days back and now wondering what to do with this helicopter since I am a beginner and never flown any 6 channel heli before. I had to unscrew the 3 servo mixers around the helicopter main shaft. i put back everything on as it was not really sure if i did it right or wrong. Wondering if anyone knows about this model and could guide me on setting up this servo with the main shaft? this helicopter was ready to fly and got it from this shop which is closing down on a discount.

The first thing I would do is to remove the fuselage until you can fly. This will reduce the crash cost, and protect the fuselage.
The second thing is to download the manual.
The third is to get on you tube, or Helifeak and watch some of the finless bob videos on how to set up a CP helicopter.

the other thing i would do is once you are ready to try it out
stop
and seek some help to check that it is set up correctly
find the nearest club that flies heli's or a good model shop that can set up a heli
it will save another crashHirobo Turbulence D3
a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro

While I agree that finding a decent shop is a good answer, the Mini Titan is a bit of an enigma. It's nowhere near as popular as it deserved to be, and I've noticed fewer and fewer people owning them. Those who have, have sold theirs and moved onto other brands.
Just saying, finding a decent shop with the knowledge and time is not going to be easy. I can only think of Midlands, Fast Lads and Skyline who fit that bill, and none of them are near you.
It is possible on here to at least help make sure the heli is assembled right, because if it's wrong, it'll stick out like a sore thumb.
So, you've changed the mainshaft. If you've got it fitted correctly, here's what you need to check;
On the mainshaft there are a couple of rough sections, the first is at the bottom (for the bottom retainer collar), the other is half way up the shaft (for the top retaining collar).
The top retaining collar that sits just below the swashplate should be at a point on the mainshaft with just the line at the very top edge of the rough area visible.
That alone will ensure that the mainshaft is in the correct place, as its placement will affect your geometry and the pitch available.
Seen below - the upper collar marking area, and bottom, showing the collar at the right position. Note the line just visible above the collar.
It would also be helpful to know which model of Mini Titan you have, whether it's flybarred or flybarless, and what tx you're using with it, and also what servos are on it.
If you need to know which version of the Mini Titan you've got, compare it to the models shown at the website in my signature.
Big giveaways will be if it's got a plastic or metal head, if flybarred what colour are the paddles, and whether the boom is ally or carbon.
You can also download the manual for whichever version you've got, in the Manuals page, if you didn't get a paper manual with it.Last edited by buzzbird; 16-08-2013, 06:41 PM.

If its new then follow the manual you cannot go wrong!
Mine came in a box nicely wrapped waiting for me to build it.
this is a great way to understand your titan again take ya time to learn how.
Make sure the head does not move when the collars are on then adjust as needed,
great heli good luck with it follow the manual.

Thanks for the info mate....sounds a bit complex. You seem to understand the thunderbird problem and right its hard to find parts for mini titan e325 cobra version and also not much help around my area. Anyways I solved that shaft issue, however I am having problem positioning the 3 ball joints connected to the right, left and top servo mixer (not sure in which angle to put the servo mixer direction)- all I know is that you have to keep all the mixer parallel and the swashplate should be levelled equal length in all 3 sides. Also I think I stripped 2 Ace rc 1016 servo (I moved them to different direction while power was on) since they don't make much movement and makes a squeaky sound. I think the tail and left servo is still functioning well since they make good noise and moves all direction. Now I just have to find a place to get those servos from lol.....300£ I spend on that heli and still did not get the luck to get it 2 inch off the ground. I will pm you some photos of the heli.(Fresh Beginner)

If you're going to stick with helis - that heli - then setting up isn't going to get very far without servos.
I use Hitec HS65MGs on both my Mini Titans - £17.48 from Midlands here: HS65MG | Hitec HS65MG Micro Servo 1.6kg/0.16s (Metal Gear) (2212120)
or £17.49 from Fast Lads here: Hitec Micro Metal Geared Servo HS65MG
but there are other brands which are just as good.
Once you've got some working servos, you need to trim them to centre on your tx and remove the servo horns and find a spline position which puts the servo horns as close to horizontal (90degrees to the vertical) as possible. On a normal tx you can then use subtrim for fine tuning to get them to absolute 90deg.
However, with that Skymaster I really can't help. It's a very basic (and not very good) tx, and the lack of dual rates to tame down the heli while you're learning won't help. I don't think it's even got subtrim.
Personally, I would take the Skymaster down to Cash Converters (they'll buy anything) and put what they give you for it towards a DX6i & receiver which you can get for £115 new or £50-80 used.
If you need parts for the Mini Titan, here's where you can get them from - usually next day/day after:
Midlands - http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/he...itan-e325.html
Fast Lads - http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/inde...sort=1a&page=1
Skyline - http://www.skylinemodels.co.uk/Mini-Titan/
and much cheaper, but takes a few days to come from Hong Kong:
