Conversion from E720 to Nitro G4

    Not quite yet. It has my name on it but payday is too far away haha.

    Going to retire the ElyQ Vision airframe and convert Stu's E720 back to G4 and do my best to keep Nitro going haha.

      So you've decided to keep going with nitro for now then as iirc you were wondering if just go full electric? Any reason why? Curious if try nitro myself but dunno if i can be bothered learn tune engines etc.

        If you're happy as you are then stick with it. I started with Nitro so feel like I should stick with it with at least one model. I was getting fed up with vibrations, but I think that's the rubbish ElyQ clutch assembly etc. This G4 will be nitros last chance with me, as I'm very happy flying electrics now. Much more flying than tinkering

        The good thing about this G4 is that it has the parts to be both nitro or leccy, so I'm sorted either way

          You can't win in this hobby. Certainly my early dabbling with big electrics was more hassle than nitro although I freely admit that the electrics and lipos have vastly improved. I had 3 align 600L motors disintegarte on me, one scorp that fell apart on a single crash and stacks of puffed lipos Yeah OK.. so nitro has had it's hassles in my hands.. I've cooked a few engines but fixing them has generally been cheaper than new lipos and claning the model really doesn't take long and I;m more likely to find and fix maintenace issues than chucking it into a cupboard and having bits fall off next flight.
          There's safeguards for both issues if you want.. lipo checkers on board and engine temp sensors etc. I relly have had very little in the way of nitro related vibe problems on mie.. probably just as much on electrics and nearly lways 'cos soemthing has just come loose. A coupe fo broken clutches certainly and the usual bearings but folk are swapping out motor shafts commonly too as well as worn or broken pinions.

          the classic 6 o' one and half dozen...

            That's very true. I'm not blaming nitro, I just seem to get on with electric better than I thought. I do hate the cost of batteries though I have to admit.

                  Thanks very much for the offer Stuart, but I feel bad doing that. Gashead already did that for me this year and I would feel cheeky doing it again lol.

                  However, if your Mrs is pressuring you to get it out of the house then I will certainly help you out haha.

                  Payday is this Friday so I'll be able to get some of it to you at least
