As I'm nearing the completion of my G4 I would be interested in any photos showing electronics placement and wire routes.

All plugs direct to vbar. Except extension for elevator servo wire. extension for the gov sensor (for ease of engine removal). And a homemade ec3 to 2x servo wire for HV setup.

Built my G4 nitro about 2 months ago, have had about 30 flights, check her over after each session and nothing has come loose, wobbled, vibrated, started to wear or needed tightening since the initial build. 'Nuff said.

Anyone had any experience with the ACE servos and the GT5 FBL controller that come packaged in the combo deals?

Really having to fight the urge to buy it now!!!

Only ever seen them set up with V bars and Futaba FBL units, but I have a feeling the GT-5 is a much overlooked bit of kit and should not be dismissed....

I have the ACE & GT5 gear with mine. The physical servo setup is brilliant with the collar design around the central servo spindle.
The tail servo is a 760 narrow band servo and has to be configured in the GT5 to work. Also be aware that not all servo testers will work with the narrow band to be able to check centering.

The servo speed needs to be set in the GT5 according to 45°. The specs for the servos are listed at 60° so you have to calculate the speed for 45°.
                e.g. speed for 60° = 0,08sec
                0,08 / 60 = 0,0013 * 45= 0,06 for 45°
So you set in GT5: 0,060

This info is in the manual but is not clear. It would be better if the manual was organised in a step by step setup, rather than a menu / sub menu.

Its a learning curve trying to setup the GT5.... If anyone has any pointers on how to set this up then that would be good as the manual is not the best !

If you get the combo then you do not get the instruction manual for the GT5!
You will have to download it... make sure you get the V2 manual.

After doing a bit of searching for a better setup guide I have also found a better setup guide written by Gary Wright (Team Thunder Tiger). This helps to explain the principles and setup...well worth a read.

                  Hope this helps !!

Would you rate the GT5 then? I've always used beast x and I'm thinking of going with the combo but swapping the GT5 out.

The setup on the GT5 is the easiest I have come across so far, nice format and the LCD screen shows a good display.

..unfortunately, after setting up the members 600 with a GT5, I noticed it had a bent mainshaft; so no test flight unfortunately.

After a couple of weeks though, he returned with a vbar.

Only seen one guy at the field use the GT5, but I get on well with the beast x and if it's no better, I'd rather stick with what i know.
                        Cheers,

Slightly unrelated but what distance from centre are your links on the throttle servo and throttle arm?

I'm at 128% on atv's to get full range which I think is not helping my gov response.
