I found out yesterday from a phone call to Midland helis (thanks guys!) that since the G4 has been discontinued, due to the G4.1 release, the tailboom has a new design. The G4.1 tailboom has just one hole drilled in at the tailbox end rather than the two oval cutouts of the old boom. So a completely different part essentially. They have kept the part number identical though, so you will not know until you receive the boom that it has changed. I had almost got to the point of dremelling mine to fir the tailbox, but Midlands came to the rescue!
The solution unfortunately is to get the new G4.1 or E820 tailbox which has the correct fitting for the new booms.
Bit rubbish if you ask me - but then again Thunder Tiger have mostly proved rubbish in all aspects apart from the flying characteristics of the heli. One hand giveth, the other taketh away!
