  • TT 550 E...motor shaft and 9T pinion?

I am about to buy a Raptor 550E and want to run it mildly on 6s. Will someone let me know what the stock motor shaft diameter might be and where to buy the correct 9 tooth pinion? Thanks for your help.

    Shaft Diameter (mm/in): 5/0.2

I have a Raptor E550 and I'm also running a 6s set up with a 9T pinion which I got Midland helicopters here in the UK
The E550s has a stock 11T pinion which gives a head-speed more suited to a flybarless setup The 9T pinion will calm it down nicely.

    Hope this helps

    Dan.

Thanks for the reply. I read somewhere that 9t may only give a one tooth engagement on the main gear. Are you having any wear problems or other running the 9t pinion? Thank you.

        Hi
I've had no problems to date using the 9 tooth pinion, it fly's really nice.

7 mins and putting around 68% back in to the packs.
General sports flying, stall turns, loops etc.

Thanks. That's fairly decent for the size of the machine.

When I had my Rappy 550e years ago-also ran it on 9T with blue Turnigy 5000mah,flights times were around 5 mins of sport flying with the occasional loops /rolls thrown in,,,could have flown longer but wanted my lipo's to last !!,,,just use a strip of paper to get the meshing right, nicely crinkled and not cut and you'll have no problems.

Thanks for the info. That is the way I normally adjust my gears also.
