Maidening my raptor 90 tomorrow

As per the title, after a long slow build of my rappy 90 to get it how i want it with the parts i wanted thanks to members of this site and loads of practice with my rappy 30, i am taking it to the field tomorrow to maiden it, i am a bit undaunted by the size of the thing and the raw power of the os 91 engine hopefully it will come home in one peice.

the rappy 90 can be a pussy cat
if set up so
and don't worry about the size
just fly it furthur away from you and then its the same size as the 30

Agreed - give it plenty of height and distance and you will be just fine.
It has such a huge presence in the air - easy to see and pretty un-affected by the wind, but take it steady with manoeuvres until you get used to the size & weight.
Pulling out of a dive needs care for the first few times.

Good luck with the maiden, I have flown a raptor 90 and they are very stable - but like all helis just keep ontop of them, keep it high and not too close.

With a new model I like to land it early before the fuel/battery goes so you can take your time with it etc

Well i went to the field today but didnt get to maiden the rappy the wind was howling down the valley it was reading 70mph gusting 85mph on my hand held wind scale way too windy for me so im going to try again in the morning

i don't know about the raptor
but i maidened my vario bell 47g3 this afternoon
a few adjustments are needed for another test fly tomorrow and then i can install the cabin floor and finish the heli off

and yer perfect weather
i've even started to get a tan

Nice - lets see some pics.
I blew my 500 round the field for 20 mins and it was just what heli flying is all about.
Simply superb weather.
Just 17 degrees warmer than yesterday!!

well i tried and i mean tried to maiden the rappy today and it never got off the ground, i went down the field with an old flier who assured me that all my setting were ok but beleive me they wernt, as i spooled up it span out of control first one way then the other so i tampered with the trim settings and it got no better so i think i need someone with loads of experience to take a look at it and put it right for me, then hopefully it will fly
