  • instuction manual for Thunder Tiger Tg-8000 please

    Hello folks,
I have just bought a raptor 30, it had a 35mhz Futaba reciever and a TG-8000 gyro unit attached.
I was wondering if any members on here have got the instructions for this TG-8000 unit that they could email to me please?
    Many thanks in advance.

I would look for a new gyro rather than instructions for that one.

It is a very old rate gyro and it does not offer a heading hold function.

Thanks for the advice, I was wondering about changing it for a better one, I did want to try it out first though - but unsure of settings for it. Really amazed that I couldnt find the instructions for it anywhere on the net.
Even looked on Thunder Tigers site and nothing.

Doogie - Are you new to this hobby as our club offers a set up service for heli's, not free I am afraiid but for your money you will get a heli setup by a long standing flyer (9yrs plus) who knows setup inside out and would take time to show you how to set up your seli properly and offer advice to you on engine set up and help with your flying... I have gone from hovering to full scale type flying in 6-8 months followinf advice and setup help from our club members

          Hi John,
I am fairly new to Helicopters, I started with a blade mcx, then went to a blade msr. I managed to pick up a second hand blade 400 and was not very successful with flying that, and crashed it whilst hovvering (
It didnt do too much damage, but it did knock my confidence a little.
I have just picked up a second hand Raptor 30 which is in great condition, but it looks like it hasnt been flown for a while.
I was thinking of learning with this as alot of people seem to agree that these are a good heli to learn with.
I am just in the process of replacing the original 35mhz reciever with a Spektrum ar7000 to match up with my dx6i.
I have the phoenix flight sim to practise on aswell.
If I do replace the tg-8000 gyro unit, have you any recommendations ?
          Cheers,
          Ian

hi ian, you would need an ar6200 rx to match your 6 chanel tx as ar7000 is a 7 chanel receiver, the rappy 30 is a great heli to learn to fly with good choice but i could be biassed as i love raptors

No reason why he can't use an AR7000 with a DX6i if that is what he has, just means he can't use the 7th channel right now but if he later upgrades the tx then his rx will be ready.
